League is considering starting the season in early May.

2-3 week spring training with opening day June 1st.
All games would be held in Arizona area, No Fans allowed.

Things under consideration
- Mic’d players
- players sitting in stands vs dugout
- Electronic Home Umpire
- 7 inning games
- Multiple double headers
- No mound visits
- Expanded Rosters

Very little of this makes sense or adds anything much to safety

It's a way for MLB to test some of it's gimmicks.

- Mic’d players
------Could be fun, but on delay for the peeps who don't want the cursing?
- players sitting in stands vs dugout
------Pointless. Unless the players are not in a lockerroom together, not working out together, not eating together, etc, etc
- Electronic Home Umpire
------Pointless. You still need an ump standing there for the non ball/strike calls. This hasn't been test at high enough levels to even consider in Major league games
- 7 inning games
------A gimimck we don't need. Play like big boys
- Multiple double headers
------Double headers? Sure, just like the old days
- No mound visits
------Same as the stands thing. They're already near each other.
- Expanded Rosters
------OK since the double headers will be tough on modern players not used to them

I love baseball. Love it. But I’d rather no baseball than this.

This puts too many people at risk and requires too many resources that should be put to better use. The testing required doesn’t seem to exist yet. NY is kicking around a couple new tests but those haven’t been approved.

I’m desperate for sports to come back. But I’d rather they come back too late rather than too early. And it seems too early to plan for May.

Yeah, and if you're using the "He's 19" logic, then I guess the best report a scout could give us is:

"I have no idea. He's a teenager. He may go through 5 arm surgeries between now and his 30th birthday. He may add a pitch. He may lose a pitch. He may put on 30 lbs and add velocity. He may put on 50 lbs and eat his way out of the league. I literally have no idea what he is going to be."

But thats not what these guys are paid to do, nor what we are looking for them to do, right?

If they have enough tests to test all the players a week before they show up to spring training, why not do this? Unless where they are in Arizona gets hit hard, I don't see the risk.

What's the problem? The players want to play. With testing the risk is low. What am I missing?

Yeah if everyone is tested and then they are just going from hotel to stadium for 4.5 months straight, the risk is certainly low. Not sure how into it the players would be as they’d be away from their families for such a long time.
