you should at least consider sending a PM to the original poster as to your reasoning for deleting it. Having never had a topic/ thread deleted, it would be nice to have an explanation. Its the least you could do.

For the sake of honesty and disclosure: I don't usually PM people when I delete threads because it's a huge pain in my rear, but I have no problem responding to people if they have questions about the thread deletions.

Lots of times people think that they're being singled out or whatever, but there's a lot of moderation going on week-to-week, so it's not really the case.

So, although I agree that in the ideal world, everyone would get a PM for everything deleted/edited/changed, it's too much of a hassle for the mods here. I mean, we want to enjoy the place, too!
