I noticed that many posters have photos in their thread posts. What is the sequence for me to do that? are there limitations?

I'm not sure I understand what you mean...how do you insert a photo in your post?

Here's the code:

Code:
[img]http://www.wherethephotois.com/filneame.jpg[/img]

Try and keep them under 400px wide so they don't ruin the layout of the board. 8)

I had the same question and am refering to adding a picture to your post. For instance during last year's collapse someone started a thread asking who would start Game 1 and Game 2 and a someone posted a picture of Jim Mora during his famous press conference which had me laughing on the floor.

I don't understand how to use the code you posted.

Yeah, and if you're using the "He's 19" logic, then I guess the best report a scout could give us is:

"I have no idea. He's a teenager. He may go through 5 arm surgeries between now and his 30th birthday. He may add a pitch. He may lose a pitch. He may put on 30 lbs and add velocity. He may put on 50 lbs and eat his way out of the league. I literally have no idea what he is going to be."

But thats not what these guys are paid to do, nor what we are looking for them to do, right?

fairly simple (took me years)

the picture exists somewhere online presumably.

hypothetical location

http://www.mywebsite.com/omarnationalsblackmailpic.jpg

to put the picture in your post, you would type
Code:
[img]http://www.mywebsite.com/omarnationalsblackmailpic.jpg[/img]

into your post. you can hit preview to make sure you got it entered correctly. when you hit submit the picture will be there

or you can paste the url of the picture into the post, highlight it and click the Img button at the top of the box where you are creating your post (same line of commands as the B iand u). This will put the tags around the url to make it an image - it should look like the code ed quoted above.

hopefully that wasn't confusing

There has to be a url for the picture. If you have a picture on your computer you want to use you can always upload it at http://myphotos.nyfuturestars.com its a free photo storage feature at NYFS

you got the idea right, but that's not an image - it's an html file.

It's not coming up because the URL you are linking to is not a photo. On that website, right click the photo you want to link to and select "view image." That new URL will probably end in a .jpg or .gif. THEN you can use it by surrounding it with the IMG tags.

You're close -- you don't copy the HTTP, you copy the address of the picture.

Right click on the photo, and then click on the section that says "Properties". A window'll appear with a section that says "Location:" with another address next to it. In the case of this photo, that location is:

http://imagecache2.allposters.com/image ... osters.jpg

Highlight that, click the "Img" button, and you have:

Thanks guys it works for me so long as the pic's on the internet.

What I've done is place pics from my computer onto an internet picture storer ("MediaMax") but when I click "properties" and copy the address, then paste it between IMG's I still get nothing

did you know NYFS has photo storage?

http://myphotos.nyfuturestars.com/

when you click on the photo you uploaded, it will give you the code for BBCode (what NYFS uses), the code for your avatar (which is the url of the photo) and html code (which is what myspace or whatever uses).

then all you have to do is cut and paste the code into a post.
