How much humor is appropriate/allowed??

I've only been here for a year and change and LOVE the forum. But a few questions for the mods- I used to love the old "Metsonline" forum by Bryon Koch- there seemed to be plenty of kids there acting like juviniles at times which in moderation wasn't so bad.

On Scout/Fanhome there was more of an emphasis on stats and facts and a little bit of cynicism regarding the team and prospects which was fine as well, here on NYFS I see mostly optimism which is great!!!

Yet I can't forget how much "Metsonline" meant to me back then. There where so many incredibly funny threads going on I had to check in to not only read about Pat Strange or any Payton for Sheffield rumor.

There actually was a classic Piazza thread (you know about what) that was getting so funny by the day it could only end because of a tragedy- which did happen :( And that unfortunate day made us continue to -well argue as it was but joke and almost find comfort as ALL kinds of topics came up.

I Loved that forum and only want to know how much humor you feel is acceptable. Metsonline policed it well and everyone got along with no problem but just wanted to know your feelings on the issue.

Humor is great. As long as it's not at the expense of other users, and remains within the bourdires of the toehr rules, e.g., respecting the players and other users, and the site.
