Over the last few days, we made a lot of changes here at NYFS, I wanted to summarize them all, because we stuck them in posts here and there in other threads, and I wanted to make sure no one missed some of the new stuff.
First of all, we added the new rollover to the linkifier. The Linkifier is the tool we use to make every time you type a players name and legit nickname it automagically converts into a link to that player's NYFS Profile page. This week, we added photo rollovers, so any time you type the players full name (Jose Reyes, Keith Hernandez, Mookie Wilson, Ron Swoboda) if we have a photo of the player it will popup when you mouse over the name so you know what he looks like.
Then we made an agreement with thebaseballcube.com to work with us on providing every stat, for every Met player, at every level, ever. We made our first additions this week, adding complete MLB stats for every Met player from 1962 to date. minors stats from 1996-date, plus a lot of minor league data for Mets players as far back as Ed Kranepool and Cleon Jones and Tom Seaver. But it also means we now have VERY comprehensive profile pages for more recent Mets favorites, e.g., Edgardo Alfonzo '86 Mets favorites (e.g., Gary Carter, Howard Johnson) and today's stars (David Wright, Carlos Beltran). We've also added Splits and Game Logs for every big league player from 2000-2005, with 2006 to follow shortly.
We knocked out a lot of corrections and additions to the Historical Roster:
We added over 500 new photos to the database, including AA and two A ball levels from 2006, and 200+ photos from the last 5 years, adding dozens of new faces to the profile pages from Jerry Grote to Kevin Mulvey.
Please remember to use these new tools and the stats here at NYFS. Please add Blurbs including your memories of old timers, even if old timers to you are Todd Hundley and Robin Ventura. We want to try and fill out the databases with as much first hand history of the organization as possible, on top of the statistics and photos and facts.
When you're starting a thread, or bringing up a player for the first time in a thread, try and type his full name correctly, so people can easily see who Ambiorix Concepcion or Deolis Guerra is when they're being discussed.
Please continue to spread the word about NYFS to fellow Mets fans. Register for everything if you haven't, and write Blurbs and posts and participate.
Thanks for spending your Mets fan time online here at NYFS.
This is my first post and I just want to say that this seems like an awesome site. I am a "vetrin" of several other sub par boards and look forward to being an active contributer and reader of this one!!

Ed, once again, you amaze me. You and your staff have made NYFS not only the best Mets message board on the web, but it is also the most informative Mets site. Having been born in 1981, I was not able to witness those great moments of the early Mets teams. This site has turned me from a casual fan into a bleeding blue and orange hardcore Mets fan. No other team I am a fan of (Devils, NY Giants) have ANYTHING close to NYFS and it's a shame. Keep up the good work Ed!
Long time lurker, occasional poster,
Adam
P.S. Credit is also due to all the regular posters. I may not always agree but almost every post is extremley well thought out and written!
