My keeper league I kept Hanley and my brother drafted Reyes as a free agent 1 st round pick. I'm a Mets fan he is a Marlins fan. Do I make the switch though? I mean.....Reyes is great but I love Hanley and his power potential.....

There's some debate over who's going to be better this season. Hanley was last season, partially because of his home run total, but also because of Reyes' poor second-half (especially September.) Honestly, I think I would have rather had Reyes, for a couple reasons. First off, he'll steal you more bases, and stolen bases are always at a premium. You can always find power off the FA wire, steals are more difficult. Second, Reyes seems to have been conditioning more this offseason to keep himself from getting so exhausted down the stretch. Third, I really don't know how Hanley's going to do without Cabrera hitting a couple spots behind him. With Miggy and Willis gone, Hanley's the leader of that team, whether he likes it or not. Not only does the loss of Cabrera mean I think he'll score fewer runs, but I don't know how much the pressure will get to him.

In the end, it's pretty much a toss-up, they're both top 5 or 10 players, and really, the draft isn't won in the first few rounds, it's won in the later rounds, you need to find the diamond in the rough.

Which begs the question, you said you kept Reyes, which means this isn't the first year of the league. Why wasn't Reyes kept? The only explanation I can think of is whoever had him left the league and his players got put back into the draft pool (which, coincidentally, is exactly how I landed A-Rod in this year's NYFS keeper league draft  )

Hey man . You hit on what I been thinking. Far as Reyes it's from a team that left like you said. 10 team league with 6 returning so there was some good players up for grabs for the 4 new teams. I kept Hanley, Peavy, and Wright. Reyes is ranked 3 behind Hanley in yahoo leagues so it's a toss up. Just not sure what to do. Hanley they asked to not steal so much and go for more home runs. I'm some what lacking the HR dept mostly cause I always draft youngins ( I get 1-3 every year so it works out ) so who knows?
