I dont think you quite get the idea of a keeper league. We kept 3 players and drafted them players FIRST..... then the rest of the draft happened....gotta think a bit bud

You took a lot of guys wayyy too early, imo.

Russell Martin is arguably the best fantasy catcher, but I wouldn't have drafted him so early, he should have been taken one or two rounds later. But it's not that bad, especially considering the rest of the draft.

Placido Polanco at #89 wasn't a good pick at all. He may score a lot of runs and get you a good average, but he's not a top 100 player.

You probably could have waited a couple rounds for Francoeur, but I have a feeling he'll finish the season right around where you drafted him.

I feel just about the same about Maybin at 112 as I do Polanco at 89. Way too early. They're going to take their time with him, he may start the season in the minors. They don't want to rush him, he'll be the cornerstone of their franchise until he gets to be too expensive and they trade him away. Besides, considering how he did during last season's call-up with the Tigers, and you could've waited a long while for him. He's going undrafted in most leagues I've seen.

If you took Joel Zumaya at 132, I really hope your draft occurred sometime in December, because Zumaya tore apart his shoulder helping his father move boxes to escape from the California wildfires a couple years back. The earliest he could be back is late June, but late July/early August is more reasonable. He's another guy who's been undrafted in most leagues, unless it's a keeper league where you keep your entire team, then you can just stash him away on the DL. But as for right now, it's probably not worth it.

I have no idea how Alex Gordon fell that far, he could easily be a top 100 player this year. I'm looking for .285-.290, 22-25 homers and 15-20 stolen bases. And if they move him to the middle of that lineup, he'll have to spend a lot of time on the DL to avoid driving in 90+. But then again, Maine has been pitching great this spring. I have Maine somewhere around #33-35 on my starting pitching lists, but he seems poised to become a top 20 pitcher, so trading for him isn't a bad thing.

Unless you have to start two catchers, I really don't see any point in carrying two. Sure, you get a back-up when the other one's off, but you can get better production from back-ups at other positions. I'm not sure you need Towles.

Cool man thanks. I honestly didn't know that about Zumaya. Figured he pitched last year so he must be healthy now. He was the only guy I never looked up and just took him cause of the K's We have 2 DL's so He will be taking one of the spots I guess. Far as Maybin and Francoeur. Everyone drafted outfields the first few rounds or so. So they were all that was left that really blew me out of the water. It was wishful thinking that Maybin would be there. So I blew that one I agree lol. Polanco went there cause he was the best available 2B and I just love the guy. I'm hoping Peroia kicks some butt again this year or Asdrubial can continue the same then I'll be trading off Polanco. I got lucky as hell with Gordon. I looked at the list and was like hell yea! but after the way Maine has pitched I couldn't say no. I can always pick up a power hitter off the waiver wire.

I agree with a lot and was kinda thinking the same thing so makes me feel pretty good. I think it's a strong team mostly on the pitching side. Oh and the dfraft was I believe 3 weeks or maybe 3.5 weeks ago.... sucks bout Zumaya...GR!

Ahhh, OK. I thought it was the first year of a keeper league draft

However, a keeper league should always be auction if it can be, like if this is with friends of yours

Our NYFS keeper was draft, and its just not the same with strategy

Ah gotcha. Whats an auction? We decided last year we all wanted to do a keeper. I'm the comish and it's just the way we felt would be easiest in yahoo. Select your first 3 keepers in the draft. New teams go the first 3 rounds free. Then in round 4 it was opened to everyone. It went WAAAAAY smooth. It's people we've picked up over the past few years. It's 10 teams with me knowing 5 of them personally. But yea what is an auction for a keeper league?

I've never done an auction, most everyone I know prefers the snake draft (1-12, then 12-1, and so on), but I'm under the impression that you don't pick in any given order, you bid on players, and whoever has the highest bid wins him. You get a certain salary cap you need to stay under, and all that.
