Alright so this year I'm entering my first Keeper league, and I'm taking over some team that some guy gave up at the end of last season.
my current roster is:
Yadier Molina Richie Sexson Jeff Kent Troy Glaus Derek Jeter Milton radley
Kevin Mench Alex Rios Shawn Green Albert Pujols Rod Barajas
Omar viquel Cliff Floyd Craig Monroe Orlando Hudson Jose Reyes
Dan Johnson Placido Polanco Chris Carpenter Jamey Wright Mike Gonzalez
Scott Linebrink Billy Wagner John Lackey Freddy Garcia Cliff Lee
Kenny Rogers John Patterson David Wells.

So I can keep up to 4 prior to next month's draft and everyone else gets tossed back into the fray.
ATM I'm thinking I'll keep Pujols, Reyes, Wagner, and ?
what do you guys think?

Jeter and Lackey instead of Wagner.

That is if you can play Reyes and Jeter at the same time. If not I'd keep Lackey and Cliff Lee.

You can find closers for cheap in an auction style. If that is what your league is.

+1, except I'd keep both Reyes and Jeter, even if you can only play 1. Just trade the other, either should have excellent value.

I concur with the above.

Jeter/Pujols/Reyes/Carpenter is the way to go.

Yup. Even if you can't start Jeter and Reyes at the same time. No one else is really that compelling. Regardless, I assume there's a DH position so he should be all set. Having two of the world's best shortstops is a pretty sweet position to be in to start the season.

If Glaus qualifies for both 3B and SS, I'd take him over Jeter. I don't think he'll come up with similar numbers this year. Can't go wrong wrong with either guy though.

Pujols, Reyes, Carpenter, and Glaus.

Reyes, Pujols, Carpenter, Wagner

You get a great 5 tool SS in Reyes, Pujols is a great source of power and average, Carpenter is the best pitcher out of the bunch, and he will win a lot of games, have a low ERA, and accumulate a lot of K's, and Wagner will give you K's and saves. You get two solid hitters that can contribute in all 5 categories, an ace, and a great closer.

I ended up going with Reyes, Pujols, Jeter and Carpenter. Apparently I do have utility spots so if i wanted to I could start them both, or just trade one or the other (of course i'm more inclined to bail on jeter then jose kings...)
