Mitchell Haniger, rf, Archbishop HS, Santa Clara, Calif.

Like Marisnick, Haniger showed plus-power potential at the plate and a strong arm in the outfield. He made solid contact in two of his at-bats, driving one ball off the very top of the left field wall for a triple. Haniger is listed at 6-feet-2, 180-pounds and showed off a powerful throwing arm from right field.- Baseball America

ESPN Blog- "
Mitchell Haniger -- He has the potential for a great future. Mitchell has impressed everyone with his approach at the plate and his defensive versatility."

Sounds like a rare "exciting" pick

Carrying over from the other thread- this is the type of "toolsy" guy I prefer personally, was what I was getting at. Impressive bat and power, already big and probably filling out more, etc. In other words, the kid has an established floor already; doesn't have only "athletic body type" to fall back on.

If this is what Jav-Rod was then I was obviously wrong in my initial assessment. But I think you get where I was going, even if it was misguided in the beginning.

No clue but thats a fantastic school. If you google his name you read people raving about him. Acer said BA at one point had him as then 86th best HS player

...what's the other sport? Cal Poly isn't D-I Bowl Subdivision in football, so why would he bother ...
