Are there only pitchers in this draft?

I want everyone that says "meh" to a draft pick, go back the last two or three years and tell us who you wanted to draft as opposed to who the Mets actually drafted and compare who had a better draft. The guys who are paid to draft players? Or the guys who post on Message boards? C'mon...you know who you are! :-)

Maybe he can be a Fuller-type. Big K numbers in D2. I think Fuller had better secondaries, though.

After reading about him, he does not sound that bad. Good velocity for a lefty so could be a nice bullpen guy.

Sounds more like a Niesen type. Good velocity in relief with questionable secondaries.

We still have our job.

Yeah, maybe. Niesen was a college reliever though, and with command issues.

And I always think Niesen's "good velocity in relief" has been overblown. I think he was 89-91 in the AFL the past 2 seasons, and we don't really have reliable reports otherwise.

Sounds like a future LOOGY who can throw with solid velocity from the left side but needs to find a consistent breaking pitch.

I'm curious, when I read things like "future middle relief guy" "future loogy" - are those kind of assessments really fair?

What was Dillon Gee when he was drafted in the 21st round? A future AAAA type?

Was Jon Niese a "future middle relief guy" too.

I think there's too much unpredictability to make that kind of claim. Maybe you've got a better eye than I do, but I don't get it.

Jon Niese was a top prep arm that was projected to go in the 2nd round but fell due to money. Not a fair comparison here.
