Can't really complain they didn't spend this year. GCL season only has 10 games left so we will see if he plays or heads to DR.

Put this in perspective....

The Mets have signed 15th-rounder Phillips Evans For $650,000. That's the highest bonus ever paid by New York outside of the first two rounds, and represents the equivalent of supplemental first-round money.

Had a SoCal scout tell me Phillip Evans profiles best behind the plate, but that he doesn't want to move back there. #Mets #mlbdraft

If I am the Mets I am telling Evans you are a 2nd baseman starting now. I hate the crap where you make someone play a position they won't play at the MLB level until AA or AAA then people wonder why they aren't good at a position when they come up

Since the GCL season is about over, I agree with you, have the kid come to instructional league as a second baseman and that's it.

I'd be pretty shocked if he doesn't start his pro career at SS. There are still some who think he can be average there.

This FO claims to be looking for impact.

He could be impact at 2B.

Huh?

Maybe I'm misunderstanding here, but since when did position scarcity shift from SS to 2B?

His value is absolutely higher if he can play SS than if he is a 2b/3b. No way they shift him immediately.
