.482/.521/.916
15 doubles, 7 homers, 31 RBI, 31 runs
10 walks, 5 Ks
4 SB, 0 CS

That's 22 XBH in 83 ABs

Tremendous raw power, apparently.

I like this pick.
Quote:
Big power bat, strong arm, high ceiling, excellent catcher. Could move way up. Outstanding at many PG events.

-PG USA

Commit to Florida State.

YESSSSSSSSSSSS we got the big guy !

This is the only guy i wanted the Mets to draft haha, he is a complete animal at the plate, and a half decent catcher, a true power bat though.

Ear to ear grin right now !

I like it. Power is his calling card according to Mayo.

Some quotes from PG USA:

Quote:
Tomas Nido is a player with the same tools as Barnum from the right side with big time power.

Quote:
Tomas Nido is another name in the discussion with big time raw power and bat speed.

Definitely will be a tough sign with that FSU commit.

9. Tomas Nido, Orangewood Christian (Maitland, Fla.) - Nido is a favorite of mine after studying video and talking to scouts. He stands out in the most important categories as far as tools are concerned — arm strength, receiving and power at the plate. His pop times are above average, but during games he's shown a tendency to open his front side on throws. The hit tool needs work, too, and despite the raw power the swing is long and his hands are busy. He's another Florida State commit and a Day 2 prospect, but he has a chance to end up among the top five prep catchers off the board. http://espn.go.com/blog/high-school/bas ... t-backstop

Whoa, his numbers as a junior:

.577/.611/1.163 over 104 ABs
8 doubles, 1 triple, 17 homers, 64 RBI, 44 runs
5 walks, 7 Ks

Teammate of Dante Bichette Jr. Bichette hit .640 with 10 homers, for comparison's sake.
