So 7th? Any objections here?

I would rank him 4th right now. He is not raw, he is very much an advanced bat for his age. He has been groomed and developed at an early age in a baseball rich environment. He could move very quickly. If he flashes above average power his 1st taste as a pro ... he will move up the ladder like a rocket.

i would rank them right now:

Wheeler
Syndergaard
d'Arnaud
Dom Smith
Nimmo
Puello
Wilmer

I would take Dominic Smith over any other offensive player in the Mets system.

Matt Harvey will end up the best college pitcher from the 2010 draft.

I think in terms of pure hitting and offensive potential - I think Dom Smith is probably our best prospect.

But i give TDA the overall prospect edge because not only can he hit but he plays a premium position at a pretty high level.

Uhhhh how about the fact that one has hit at every level of the minors and one has never even put on a team issued hat?

I count him as a pending graduation.

I should have prefaced that with in the off season.

You're the single poster on this site who I read with interest, but if you wouldn't trade Familia for a 1st round hs 1b scouts rave about ten times out of ten, something is wrong.

I'm ranking TDA above Dom Smith. Not sure what you are getting on me about? I do think that Dom Smith probably has greater long term offensive potential then anyone in our system and that will be reflected in most prospect rankings at the end of the year. Where would you put him on the list???

Meh, I was just "getting on" the implication of positional difference being the only thing that puts TdA in a class above this guy.

I think thats going way overboard on someone who needs to hit a ton to even be useful,, let alone superstar, and is YEARS away.

He was ranked mostly between 10-20 in his draft class. Some ranked TdA 10-20 in all of the minor leagues. There's a pretty significant gap in quality of prospect here we're talking about - thats all. I know power hitting 1B is sexier than average hitting SS, but keep in mind Smith and Cecchini rank similarly within their respective classes - so just consider that as far as where they fit in the org.

I am certainly not into projected rankings, but I think if he signs early, gets some PT under his belt, he'll be much higher on ranking polls than many think.

I don't want to offer the kiss of death with my praise, but this is the most excited I've been about a pick in a long time, and I really liked Nimmo and Harvey's selections.
