Looks like they saved 561,600 total on these signings if my math is correct.

I think that's right Hojo. Means we probably will have $200-$300k for Schneider/Hutchinson. Also means we are probably nowhere close to Eder/McWilliams/Labas/Van Eyk

Yes, your math is correct.

That means they are $189,400 under with Peterson, Brodey, Winaker, and Renteria still pending. Think those four will save an additional $150,000-600,000.

Van Eyk is not happening and obviously Eder isn't either. I think they sign Hutchinson, Schneider, and Flores. Labas is TBD. McWilliams and Taylor too.

Those last three might require digging into the additional $300,000 or so that the Mets are allowed to dig into.

McWilliams says he needs to be blown away.

Yeah, I don't think they sign him.

At best, they'd have the money for Labas OR McWilliams. And given where they drafted them, I think they'd take Labas over him if the money is close.

Sometimes it's good draft guys so others cannot in the later rounds...

Props to the people who said Vientos would sign for 1.5. I thought he'd go higher. Good move by the mets. I like him a lot.

I understand that logic, but it seems a terrible thing to do to a kid who has a chance of getting a fair contract somewhere else.

If you like a prospect enough that you're legit concerned about the consequences if he signs with a rival team, you'd be a fool in addition to a jerk not to make him a fair offer.
