Vientos is essentially like an IFA. We, in many ways, drafted a top 7-figure IFA in the second round, which is strong value. He's not going to be ready for full season until 2019 or 2020 most likely but the upside is high. He's a hard guy to fully project out given the age and body.

I like the higher risk higher upside pick in round 2. Solid day 1 of the draft.

I don't really care about the prospect rankings all that much, especially on guys that everyone knows, but should not that Keith Law had him at 24 and the other reputable sources (PG, BA, FG) all had him in the 20s and 30s.

I personally saw him as a late first to early second round guy who I would have been okay with at 20 and thrilled with at 59.

I don't know anything about this kid, but he seems to have a projectable body as he looks tall and wiry. Sounds like he has already shown some power and moving off shortstop would make me think he's got a good shot at staying at 3rd base long-term. Also, him being so young is pretty neat as he can probably get some exposure (if he signs) to Rookie ball this season, a full offseason of training, and still be 18-years-old for the entirety of next season.

Definitely an interesting pick!

Looks like he has a lot of filling out to do.

I'll probably get called out as crazy for saying this, but his swing and upright stance at the plate reminds me a little bit of Giancarlo Stanton. He's got a big frame and he could grow another inch or two given his age. He's already a good exit velocity guy and as he adds strength he'll only get better.

The body reminds me of Miggy back when he was a baby.

I compared him to Wilmer and people said the same thing about Wilmer when he was this age.

Love getting home from work and just reading through scouting reports of future Mets
