Luckily, I'm only following today for Tej's jokes and anecdotes.

I think you mean "rages".

That has absolutely no connection.

The Mets will spend as much as the league tells them to spend.

The problem is getting the kids to take it.

I guess the plan is to grab some relievers or SP with RP projectability that can move fast and give the bullpen in 2018 some options? His numbers at Kansas certainly look decent...and in the 10th round, this kid seems like a decent pickup.

What's his arsenal?

How many non-first round pick relievers are in the bigs their first full season? There is maybe a 1% chance any of these guys see Queens next season. The # of 10th round college relievers who saw the bigs their first full season is probably closer to 1 than 100. He probably throws 10-15 innings this year and lands in Columbia or if he's very lucky St. Lucie.

Hey, it worked for Koda Glover.

They didn't draft a 5th year senior in the 10th round because they see him as a 2018 option. TRUST me. What makes him any different than the other 30+ relievers they have taken the last 3-4 years out of college? Still waiting on Bashlor, Magliozzi, McGowan, Sewald was taken 2012 and only debuted this season despite DOMINANCE, Logan Taylor, Matt Koch (a high pick) 4 years from drafted until debut, Bowman 4 years from draft until debut.

Worth noting Villanes reportedly throws "upper 80's", Glover throws 96-100....

Arsenal: Three-pitch pitcher that relies mostly on fastball. Sits upper 80s, but with significant arm side run. Excellent command, ability to spot pitch anywhere in the strike zone. Does not have much sink. Slider does not have much depth, but has sharp bite. Plays fastball and slider off of each other. Changeup fades down and in to right-handed batters, gets swings and misses. Plus movement and command of pitches provide promising future in bullpen.

Yeah. Not expecting any of our senior signs to be that good, but Rentería has the best shot to be Glover I would think.

94-97 always give you a chance. Renteria sounds somewhat similar to Jacquez who had talent but was a jerk and now has a 15.00 era in Mexico. For the record, senior signs can potentially be good, but they aren't taking seniors with an eye toward 2018. I'd guess MOST of it has to do with Vientos.
