Chafin does not light up the radar gun — he usually sits 88-to-91 mph with his fastball — but he complements his fastball with a sharp curveball and a devastating changeup. In the past he had thrown both a slider and a curve, but in the offseason he worked with head coach Rob Childress to eliminate the slider and focus on perfecting his curveball.

Chafin is the only Mets draft pick whose team is still alive in the CWS. His Texas A&M team will be taking on Brendan McKay's Louisville team on Sunday afternoon.

-LHP Kaylor Chafin - 32nd round (New York Mets): Chafin is a redshirt junior so he might be ready to be done with school. He was the top reliever for the team this year but really only has the one year body of work for teams to watch. He could certainly improve his stock as well. It would be huge for the Aggies to get him back as he went 28 1/3 consecutive scoreless innings at one point this season.http://tamu.247sports.com/Bolt/MLB-Draf ... o-53183247
