I assume anyone can find something to like in the draft...it could be fun value or baseball value.

1. Peterson: never thought he'd be there for us at 20. I think he is going to move quickly and will offer a balance to any of the power pitchers that might still have arms by the time he arrives. Slot signing probably.
2. Bryce Hutchinson: If anyone can be a big power pitcher to replace a few guys down the road. He will take time, I suspect. Sign his friend Peden while we're at it.
3. Vientos: Prep player...tools...my favorite types of choices. I'd say 30% chance he signs, even overslot.
4. Joshua Walker: My sleeper guy to this draft. Big lefty. Always bueno.
5. AJ Labas: Great pitcher frame. Could coax a few more MPH from his arm. I'd say chance of signing at 25%.

Honorable Mentions
Dibrell - Neat pick, but his arm is going to be jello. Could have significant upside. Criminal pitch counts.
Sierra - Ricky Vaughn...in real life.
Carl Stajduhar-Mjolnir - Thor's hammer at third.
Aaron Ford - I think this year's Sewald.
Steven Villines - Posted a picture with girlfriend in Mets hat. Always a good thing.

(1) David Peterson - Trending up LHP always good picks
(2) Mark Vientos - Because Mets rarely go for the home run type HS player
(3) Tony Dibrell - Has the talent, and Mets have done well with pitchers
(4) Bryce Hutchison - Big guy and talent, and a couch's son, which for some reason still matters to me
(5) Trey Cobb - He's not the flashiest of the options, but I feel that he could be a quick mover and an asset in the bullpen. Just think how many times you wished "darn, I wish I had one more reliable arm in the pen."

HM:
CJ Van Eyk - Cool name, but doesn't make list b/c he's not signing
Quinn Brodey - Enough talent that maybe something there if you can peel away the standfordness
Dylan Snypes - I have a think for scrappy SS, I'll admit it
Stephen Villines - Submariner-style pitchers are awesome.

1. Vientos- I was a big fan of the upside pick. I don't care about the speed grade.
2. Hutchinson- another upside arm, really like.
3. Peterson- Looks like he'll move quick.
4. Renteria- I can always get behind a hard-throwing shorty.
5. Sierra- Looks like he throws hard, and went to JC in my home city.

Did we draft any oddly-aged Canadians this year? Those are always my favorites.

Canadian ages are funny cause you have to apply the exchange rate. Transfer Canadian years into American years and all that.

1) Peterson - probably moves quickly. Good probability of being a useful player.
2) Vientos - higher upside, higher risk. Like him a lot.
3) Dibrell - I think there's some upside.
4) Brodey - bucking the trend her, but I like Brodey's upside.
5) Winaker - people will think I'm crazy with this one, but I think the mets found 2 guys they like out of Standard with mlb upside. I think both Brodey & Winaker will be fun to watch.

Honorable mention, Schneider, Duce, Hutchinson - (others would be higher if I thought they had a chance of signing).

Post-signing adjustment to the list.

Honorable Mentions
Sierra - Ricky Vaughn...in real life.
Aaron Ford - I think this year's Sewald.
Steven Villines - Posted a picture with girlfriend in Mets hat. Always a good thing.
Kyle Wilson - Number 7 rank in Missouri has to mean something.
Ronnie "Opie" Taylor - throw it as hard as you can and hope they don't hit it.
