I think 5-7 is very likely with the current state of the team.

Turang and Singer are the only two I see gone before the Mets pick. Way early but the draft sounds very good so at least the Mets tanked the right year.

College class has good depth, i think the guys at the top still have a couple boxes to check before knowing how strong the top really is. On the flip side Catcher, SS, and pitching is completely loaded in the HS ranks.

They're not the most reliable but MyMLBdraft published a mock a couple days ago:

They have us taking Kelenic. Also, a familiar name at #9.

Picking 6th with two games left. 6th is best Mets can do with Padres and Braves one and two games behind with the tie breaker being who won more games last year. Long story short looks like 6th or 7th.

Impressed with neither the lists nor the mock draft.

This is a good draft class though.

They have McClanahan, LHP South FL (Mets 2015) as 3rd on the college list.

I'm good with Kelenic. Resembles Moniak.

But I assume they grab an arm.

Bad list, but Kelenic is a guy to get excited about. For a league always looking for the next Mike Trout, you could draw some pre-draft similarities between the already-HOFer and a fellow cold weather gamer with both track record, intensity, and measurables.

Totally doesn't resemble Moniak

The mock sucks, I'm pretty good with the other lists so far. I was a little surprised that the college list may have ignored the Cape a little bit. And the HS list had some names that kind of jumped, despite not really getting any ink from the publication lately.

I didn't realize that Cortes was soph-eligible, but I think there are some Andrew Benintendi similarities here, especially in having the talent and questionmarks at the top to cruise up the draft board all year long. Similarly, Hess is of great interest to me. With the line between starters and relievers getting blended more and more, I'm less concerned about the funky delivery necessarily equating to less value, and the stuff is filthy.

On the HS side, I really like Groshans and think he is way too far down the list. Think he is athletic enough to pull off the Corey Seager look as a big SS. I don't think he has the same pure hitting ability, but the raw power, bat speed, and superior running speed could make him equally as dangerous. I think Kumar is overhyped..... or as overhyped as you can be hitting 98 with a plus slider..... and think he is starting to see a correction by the mocks.
