Catawba Valley CC commit. Should be signable.

According to Prep Baseball Report he was an NC state recruit at some point, lanky and athletic frame 87-89 touching 90. That report was almost a full year ago.

Saw Catawba on Perfect Game so he could easily be a NC State commit as well.

Hey hey!!! Finally a HS that I remember reading about at some point this year. Saul Gonzalez, another tree of a pitcher. His velocity really started coming around this year and was up to 94 with a decent curve early in spring. Hopefully he's an easy sign. Alabama St commit and you'd think we'd have plenty of cash for multiple 250,000 to 300,000 players

Don't think he's breaking our bank.

Yeah there was an article saying Mets called him with an offer before the pick (which he accepted) and he didn't think he would go that high. That sounds underslot to me. Just a JC commitment.

Mets 26th rounder Brian Sharp was a 2-way player but the Mets announced him as a 3b http://www.kansascity.com/sports/colleg ... 95584.html #Mets

A year after Tanner Houck took Columbia by storm, another Tiger recruit is starting to turn heads. Brian Sharp has been another outstanding two way freshman phenom; as a hitter, he’s hitting .317 with 12 RBI, and as the team’s closer, he’s pitched to a 1.32 ERA with 3 saves and a .132 BAA. Standing at 6'1" and 214 pounds, Sharp looks more like an infielder than a pitcher, and could find himself staying at third base when he does go pro. Sharp has the potential to be a star player for the Tigers, and while he won’t be playing Cape baseball this summer, expect him to be a strong possibility to get an invitation to Team USA, especially if he continues playing the way he has.

Another NC prep RHP off the board in Zachary Hammer. Catawba Valley CC recruit. 6-3, 170 has good stuff, but can be wild. CB is a power pitch and FB peaked at 92 this spring. #Mets #mlbdraft

Wow. Gonzalez is huge

Rank: 401

A big, 6-foot-7, 230-pound righthander, Gonzalez is an arm strength power pitcher with a fastball that has been up to 95-96 mph this spring. Scouts think that he can eventually throw in the upper 90s, but he has a long arm stroke and no breaking ball to speak of presently. During games this spring, Gonzalez pitched off of his fastball almost exclusively and would throw just one breaking ball in some looks. He’s also a below-average athlete. An Alabama State commit, Gonzalez is thought to be a tough sign, and while a team might bite on a future 70-grade fastball, it could be a tough sell without much in the way of secondary offerings.

Yeah, just watching a few seconds of his clips on YT and you can see that Gonzalez will require some mechanical overhauling.

He’s lulling us into a false sense of security.
