Where would you guys slot him in the Mets top 10?

I have him 7th behind Gimenez, Alonso, Peterson, Vientos, Szapucki and McNeil (I think he deserves jumping way up on the overall list with what he has done, regardless of prior opinion, age, ceiling, etc. He has just been too good to put behind anyone else IMO) and ahead of Kay and Dunn. 10th spot could be one a whole bunch of guys. Humphreys? Mauricio? Cecchini?

Alonso
Gimenez
Peterson
Kelenic
Dunn
Szapucki
Vientos
McNeil

Guys ahead of Kelenic are there because of proximity, mostly. Beyond that -- who knows?

Yay 6th best player in a 5 man draft. We're going to rock in 2023!

So, this isn't part of a quick turnaround. How many years until we see our top 2 picks playing for the Mets?

As to rankings, on what basis would he be ahead of Mauricio?

If you are extremely lucky 3 years on Kelenic, 4-5 on SWR

For comparison;

We're still waiting on Dom Smith 5 years later and Gavin Cecchini 6 years later. Brandon Nimmo is making an impact 7 years later.

That's the rub with drafting HS kids. Nobody has a crystal ball, but you make the best decision you can at the time. If you think you have can't-miss talent at the top of your board when you're on the clock, pull the trigger.

Hey guys first time long time. 2 quick questions:

- Did they Mets draft their Best Player Available here?

- Does he have UPSIDE?

Thanks; I'll hang up and listen.

You don't pay $5m bonus money to a chip. That is bad business.

For those with the Kotsay comps, in his best 9 year period, he was a 102 OPS+ player. Kotsay was the epitome of average.

I am hoping Kelenic is more than that considering Liberatore, Stewart, Winn and Rodriguez were there for the signing. And he may be.
