Mets announced him as a shortstop, I believe. He hasn't played any SS since 2019. Last year he appeared in 39 games in CF, 7 in LF and 12 at 2B.

put up really nice numbers for UCLA

and exp with multiple positions gives him nice value as a potential util player

2nd UCLA player, not that it matters much, but it's probably pretty cool for them to maybe come up together.

Between drafting Schwartz and all the pre-draft ties to McLain, the Mets were clearly scouting the Bruins quite heavily. That said, Kendall doesn't sound like much more than organizational filler that will fill a middle infield spot among the affiliates for a few years before retiring. Anything more than Danny Muno would be a win, IMO.

UCLA had first round pick Matt McLain at SS. Kendall played mostly SS in 2 summer leagues so I'm guessing it's his natural position.
