If we come away with

42 Tanner
47 Horton
79 Meyers, Nolan or Brandon
95 Maine
101 Luebke

I'd be happy. But I also know nothing about them..........

From what I've heard Scott Maine is a little bit wild.

Porcello pitched a perfect game with 12 Ks yesterday.

Yes, that latest BA listing is much more in line with my own ranking of the college players, with a couple exceptions...

1. I think Brachman is still grossly overrated as a prospect, simply based on his upper 90s fastball. Unlike Verlander before him, who similarly struggled his Junior year in college, Brachman does not have the off-speed and breaking pitches that Verlander possessed at the time. Also, most of Verlanders problems in college stemmed from control problems; whereas, Brachman has been hit, and hit hard all year long.

2. Now that he's healthy, I think Cole St.Clair will move back into the first round projections by the time the draft occurs. In fact, he could move back into the top 10 - 15. I saw him in person for a 1.1 IP stint (3 Ks) yesterday, and he looked as dominant as ever. I see Savery this afternoon.

Brackman isn't going to be drafted high for a number of reasons. One, he's a Boras client. Two, he's a two-sport athlete with basketball as his other sport and some people think he's a draft-quality type of basketball player.

Nolan Gallagher? Yuck! His numbers are horrible this year. I'd rather take Big Game's brother that high than him!

Prospectus, remember it isnt always about numbers with these guys. Mulvey, just a recent example, had 3 bad seasons at Villanova and was drafted in the 2nd round and has dominated as a 21-year-old in AA.

Mulvey atleast had a good ERA and the excuse of playing for a poor team that was never regarded as a baseball power-house. Nolan's ERA is very underwhelming and he plays for one of the best baseball programs in America at Stanford. He doesn't have great command and an average fastball at best. That's not a good combination to have.
