some interesting things in there that's for sure. I am sure Omar and company will be looking at the Puerto Rican group of kids extensively as it says this may be their best prep group in years.

Then 5th year player Trystan Magnuson sounds just like Joe Smith did last year at this time. Could be looked at it appears if they try that philosophy again.

Hopefully the Mets will draft for talent and use NDFAs to fill out their rosters.

I don't want to see a lot of picks wasted on college seniors to pad Brooklyn & Kingsport...

I agree, do not waste picks. Honestly you can't go into the draft expecting to get this and that, MLB draft I think is really drafting best available, and it's always good to look at guys who can help you out in the bigs sooner rather than later, but at the same time you want guys with ceiling.

Matt Harvey will end up the best college pitcher from the 2010 draft.

Matt Simek of Binghamton University plays 2nd. He is a senior. Has a bit of pop and can pick some bags.

Honestly, I dont expect him to be drafted...however, some names to watch from Binghamton U. are junior pitchers Zach Groh and Scott Diamond, senior pitchers Jeff Dennis and Mike Van Gorder, and 1st baseman Brendon Hitchcock.

Groh is currently 12th in the nation in K/9 and last year he led the nation in ERA for much of the season, but finished closer to top 10 or so with a sub-2 ERA.

Diamond is a lefty who was highly regarded coming out of high school in Canada. He also has performed well and recieved recognition from BA for his strong summer league play.

Van Gorder has been awesome this year and last, combining for a 11-3 record and a sub-3 ERA.

If any high upside MiFers fall to 42, I want to snap them up. Preferably HS.

If Sean Henry was better on defense, Id love to see him play 2nd. I still have hope that one day he will be given an oppertunity to play some 2nd base. He definitly would become the best hitting middle infielder in the Mets minor league system, not to mention he probably hasnt even reached his full potential as he is 21.

Barring a shock #42 will likely be a college pitcher, the mets love to take pitchers high as they should.... I am hoping JP Arencibia falls to 42.. a catcher from UT, 291/442/496... or Corey Brown, a BEAST offensive OF... 367/506/808 with 17 steals from OK state

I don't want to waste a high draft pick on a second baseman. pitching, pitching, and more pitching.

I agree. I think we can find a solid college or JUCO second-baseman later in the draft. I want pitcher, HS or college, and even some more Joe Smith type of college relievers.
