I made a post that I didn't fault Cohen for his actions and statements on Gamestop, which does seem an unusual case of investors deliberately inflating the value of a stock to hurt people who sold short on the stock, expecting the price to go down.
Others disagreed, saying Cohen should be investigated for putting pressure to stop buys on the stock.
I'm far from an expert in this area, though I know a tiny bit.
This article seems to take Cohen's side and Reddit investors urging others to buy does seem to support the article. Does Cohen have a right to request that buying on the stock be halted . . . probably not, but it's a tricky subject.
I'll add that I'm an occupy Wall Street guy. I wasn't there every day or even, one day all day, but I'd stop by and lend vocal support for 10 or 20 minutes when I was in the area. Got some interesting replies, one person telling me about reptilians and more than one anti-vaxer so . . . not fans of that, but I am big on tax and regulate Wall Street - which played a huge rule in the 2008 market collapse so . . . I'm not on the side of Wall Street as a rule, but I do think that Cohen isn't wrong to call out people buying Gamestop for more than it's worth.
Anyhoo - feel free to disagree. Educate me on what I'm missing (which is probably quite a bit).
