it appears nybaseballcentral (.com) which is run by I believe Mike McGann, is also down. When I went to their site it said "cannot find server." If it's not just my cpu, and it really is down, I think it's a shame. I don't know any of the details but I would assume the same people who attacked NYFS attacked NYBC.

I was a user and poster on nybc, and I think it is down for good.

The message I got was "Ny Baseball Central is down for the foreseeable future.
Thanks for stopping by."

that gives me the impression that it is not coming back. Havent been able to contact Mike, but that is what I think happened.

Yes, I pulled the plug on the site.

Ironically, I couldn't cope with the abuse and constant discussion of my personal life. It's not like I didn't deserve it, from a karma standpoint, but it became more than I could cope with.

I'm going to continue to do web development/hosting and will be launching a series of non-sports sites in the coming months.

I may return to writing and shooting baseball next spring — because I certainly enjoyed that. Whether I do it for a site of my own — or for some other site/publication remains to be seen.

Mike,

thanks for the explanation. I was definitely wondering what happened.

best of luck to you in your future endeavours, hope that you will post your insight somewhere on the web for all to enjoy.

For what it's worth, NYFS being down has nothing to do with any of the other sites in this industry, nor any past conflicts.

Completely seperate issues.

Well, we'll see.

I'm not sure there's much demand at this point.

Hope everything can be cleared up, whatever the problem may be. It's nice to see a website owner who doesn't try to blame everyone else for a problem when most normal people understand that not every internet issue can be remedied by threatening to sue someone.

Again, good luck in getting everything up and going again, Ed.

I invite Mike to start NKBaseballCentral.com.

We have need of a good Mets site in Pyongpang.
