It's 2 pm EDT on Saturday.

President Obama is speaking to a friendly crowd in Minneapolis.

CNN is covering it live.

MSNBC is covering it live.

Fox News has Glenn Beck live in studio with one of his Howard Beale -style rants alongside split-screen live video of the tea party march in Washington, DC.

And FOX NEWS is probably doing double the nielsen number of MSNBC and CNN combined.

One thing that this country needs to figure out is how to make the truth profitable. It bothers me to no end that the major networks are given access to federal spectrum only to use it to tell us which household cleaning product could kill us -- at 11.

Fine but when it comes to criticizing "editorial decisions" how can you fault the decision to put on something that will kill in the ratings... when ratings are what indirectly puts money in everyone's pockets.

At some point they should stop calling themselves the news.

It seems there's a slight discrepancy in estimating the size of the crowd at the DC tea party rally.

Extreme right wing pundit Michele Malkin blogged that ABC estimated the crowd at TWO MILLION (in fact, ABC did no such thing).

Numerous other blogs linked to Malkin and another (incorrectly) attributed the estimate to CNN. The CNN attribution was quickly pulled from the blog in question.

Freedomworks, the registered lobbying group that has been involved in lending organization to the town hall protests and was involved in organizing the DC rally, estimated the crowd at 30 THOUSAND.

MSNBC's David Shuster quoted a Park Service source as saying the 30,000 estimate was "generous".

Olbermann's fill in low balling the estimate? Shocking.

I live in DC. I've seen protests. This was a big protest, but not one of the biggest ones. The anti-war rallies were over 100k...and these people did not resemble that.

Also, I'm not sure what a quote from the Park Service has to do with MSNBC partisanship.

Park Service employee low-balling the estimate? Hmm....
