Amazing episode!

Possibly the coolest show on TV. What a finale!

Can't wait for next season!

Might be a while:

Quote:
The April 16 Season 1 finale of "Spartacus: Blood and Sand" is the last we'll see of the Starz! show for a while.

Lead actor Andy Whitfield was recently diagnosed with non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, and since the series can't continue without Spartacus himself, production of Season 2 has been delayed indefinitely.

Staff writer Maurissa Tancharoe, confirms via Twitter: "The second season is still happening, however, it is on hold at the moment due to star Andy Whitfield's health problems." She repeated her sentiment later, assuring fans that the show has not been canceled.

Vulture Exclusive: Starz Developing a Spartacus: Blood and Sand Prequel

Vulture has learned that Starz is developing a six-episode miniseries prequel to its freshman hit, Spartacus: Blood and Sand, in order to keep the series' momentum after its star, Andy Whitfield, was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma a month ago and production on a second season was indefinitely postponed. The series (the finale of which airs next week) has been Starz's first original-series hit, averaging a million viewers each week; the network green-lighted season 2 a month before it even premiered, but now, with Whitfield in treatment, Starz finds itself with empty sets, actors, producers, and writers very expensively standing by. A prequel (Gladiator Babies, perhaps?) would keep the sets and creative staff productive, while holding on to the original show's fans. Network execs are now in Cannes at the annual MIP TV international programming marketplace, looking at other options, but this spin-off is looking like a tempting bet to fill their January hole. More as this story develops.

Katrina Law (Mira) has a great blog about the show. This is the "prior to season end" post...its awesomely written and probably describes the addiction to this show accurately.

My wife was even cheering and yelling at the TV when Spartacus was flying through the air after jumping off Cryxis's shield. What a great, well done scene.

The blood bath with Batiatus and Lucretia lying with their hands touching during that overhead camera shot was awesome.

Awesome episode, great season finale.

I watched the pilot back in January, thought it was pretty ridiculous and gave up on it for a while. Fast forward to last week when I was bored out of my mind, and I see that all of the first season was on On Demand. Needless to say, I watched all the other episodes in about a week's time (including the last like 4 or so sunday night). A true guilty pleasure. The finale was excellent!

Locked in is a great way of explaining how I feel about this show.

Best season finale in quite a while too!

Now hopefully we can get Mr. Whitfield healthy again :?

"Spartacus: Blood and Sand" Season 2 is a go! Star Andy Whitfield's diagnosis of Stage 1 non-Hodgkin lymphoma put production of Season 2 on hold. Instead, producers greenlit a 6-episode "Spartacus" prequel series starring Lucy Lawless and John Hannah.

Whitfield announced to Deadline that he is now cancer-free and has already begun training for his appearance in the prequel series. "I'm raring to go," he says, noting that his treatment was completed in mid-May.

"I was a healthy young man and had no idea that this could happen," Whitfield says of the initial shock. "It was frustrating that the first season was ending on such a high note and we could have been rolling into season 2."

Spartacus will be seen in two episodes of the prequel. Whitfield will begin filming his scenes in October, which gives him plenty of time for the rigorous boot-camp training he does for the physically demanding role. After the prequel series wraps the cast will immediately segue into the full Season 2 of "Spartacus: Blood and Sand."

Nice! I knew it was coming back, but hadn't seen a quote that he was all better. Thanks.
