Anyone watch this? Pretty good.
Documentary television series on Dogfish Head Brewery. I've only had their 60 Minute (good but I am not a hop head) and Raison D'tre (raison beer....YUCk) but watching this series has me interested in trying some of their other stuff. Disapointed I missed out on Bitches Brew.

Beer Wars seems interesting. I'll check out for sure....eventually. Probably once I resubscribe to Netflix or if I can find it online somewhere, like Hulu.
Just found Beer Wars streaming for free online. Enjoyed it.
I looked up Moonshot Beer after watching only to discover that most of those who tried it thought it sucked. Interesting how a movie that favored craft breweries would put such an emphasis on a beer that did craft brewers an injustice.

I just took that part of the documentary to be about the process that someone who earnestly believes in their craft brew has to go through in order to compete with the big boys (even if it's not actually the best thing in the world). Part of the experience.
The fact that the narrator wasn't too interested in beer kind of diluted the work overall IMO. Worth watching though, of course.

I've had Moonshot and it's pretty horrible. Also interesting is that it's been banned under the new Four Loko legislation, though they are fighting it.
I think her (the Moonshot woman) purpose in the movie was to show someone who helped start up the biggest craft brewery in the country from the ground up, only to leave and still struggle to make it with her own venture. Shows how tough of a business it is to make it in and how much quality of product really matters.
And I wouldn't say Anet Baron is necessarilly not interested in beer. I've heard interviews where she said she used to really like it before developing an allergy.

Yeah, I get why the Moonshot story was told and I admit to being interested in it. That's why I looked into the beer. I was just surprised the beer was reported to be so bad.
As for Anet Baron not drinking beer, that wasn't something I took issue with though I could see how other would. But since this movie seemed to be largely about the business side of the beer industry I didn't have a problem with her since she direct experience in that regard.
