I gotta say, I haven't followed Whitney Houston's career for a really long time, really since the drugs and stuff, but I can think of few people (if any) who had such a flawless voice. I hope she's happier wherever she is now.

I've been working in Newark since 2005 and just learned that a small church in the neighborhood about a 5-minute walk from my office is the New Hope Baptist Church, where she first sang in the choir as a young teenager.
I've actually parked my car in the lot across from the church on numerous occasions and had no idea of its significance in pop music history.
