Eh. Didn't care for it.

I read the books though and this season has been a lot of that for me.

A) Not a huge fan of all these departures (often gratuitous) from the books.

B) Within that, the pregnant stabbing was way over the top.

Should have definitely deviated from the book here. Not that im a fan of the character...or the actor who I found pretty boring

You developed the character as someone who who would avenge the death of Ned Stark in season one....suddenly he's gone just for the shock value

Lame just lame

The what? Never heard of it.

Just kidding. My favorite part of the books. I never even felt attached to Robb but the first person view of Catelyn is heart wrenching. I like that he doesn't get vengeance and I felt in the books that he was always behind Bran, Jon, and Arya in terms of significance (obviously in the narrative not politically.). It's a lot of characters and it's a violent world. People are gonna die. There are enough stories where the son always avenges his father. I like that the books aren't clean like that.

In the show, it was adequately done. nothing special. They made good use of the one visceral tool the books couldn't offer: the music. The belly stabbing was bad judgement, dumb and distracting from the emotion of the scene. The Lannister line was heavy-handed. Mostly, I missed the Umbers going nuts and taking out a bunch of Freys with them.

I'm pretty sure the Lannister line was actually in the books, no?

The books made it far more clear that Robb was never going to be the center point. He was always an ancillary character, and not well flushed out.

As for revenge, I'm pretty sure that Daenaerys eventually Harrenhal's the crap out of the Twins and feeds her dragons nothing but Frey until there are no more Freys (after she marries her nephew(s)).

Blatant speculation. The fourth and fifth books give away essentially nothing that you don't know in book three (unfortunately). GRRM would rather write himself into corners than untie knots.
