Dead at the age of 70. Lung cancer

In the US, he probably was most famous for his duet on "Saturday Night Live" with John Belushi, who, imitating Cocker, sang alongside the original.

In a small way, he helped get me through my first paying job when I was 16. I worked as a short-order cook in a drive-in diner (why they hired me, I have no idea since the most I ever cooked before was a grilled cheese sandwich).

It was a job I hated and I literally considered quitting every single night at the end of my shift.

But it had an old-fashioned jukebox. Most of the songs were Top 40, which were not at all to my taste. But there was one, a Cocker tune called "High Time We Went", and I would play that song at least once a night and it helped me get through a lot of pre-closing cleanups.

Rest in Peace

He was still alive.

I always figured him to be one of those drugged out 60s refugees who would never see a social security check (or the British equivalant)

2015 will see the Mets contend for a playoff spot.

My prediction, 88 wins after winning the playoff for the last wildcard.

(An AMAZINGLY Close prediction for once)
