I heard he had some argument with the Orioles over whether he should start or relieve, that might have something to do with it.

Wow the Tigers stole Cabrera and Willis ( a throw in)

December 4, 2007: Traded by the Florida Marlins with Miguel Cabrera to the Detroit Tigers for Dallas Trahern (minors), Burke Badenhop, Eulogio De La Cruz, Cameron Maybin, Andrew Miller and Mike Rabelo.
