Clear desperate dump by the Red Sox. I think this is a great, great gamble by the White Sox. They have gotten some of the worst production out of 3B this year.

Great move for the White Sox. They've gotten absolutely nothing from 3B this year and they gave up just 2 borderline major leaguers.

What a complete waste of 2 roster spaces for the Red Sox.

I guess I don't even really see the situation. Yve got a guy who came up with the team and has generally been considered a positive voice in the clubhouse. It's possible that they discussed it and he said no, but I would think they would have at least asked if he was comfortable playing a couple days a week in a bench role for the remainder of the season. Bottom line, they're a weaker team today than they were yesterday.

It must have been an internal thing because Youkilis can switch between 1B, 3B and DH duties during the week.

Apparently Youk jokes were too soon, and the President heard about it.
