Card's ERA could set a 43 year low

Wed Aug 05, 2015 10:07 pm

OK, ERA haters, stop reading, but when I grew up, ERA was king.

The cards currently have a 2.68 team ERA. My guess is it goes up a bit as the year closes, as their FIP is higher, but 2.68 is crazy good for a team ERA. Hasn't been done since 1972 and 72 was a strong pitchers year. Not as much as 1968, but 72 was a pitchers year too.

and, finally, as a team they have a 141 ERA+

The 69 mets, for comparison, had a 122 ERA+

141 ERA+ for a team can't happen very often. Anyone know how to look that up?
