This guy is literally the worst, and yet somehow keeps tricking teams into giving him a job. And sometimes even smart teams (e.g., the Rays!). The Rays paid James Loney $7m to not play for them this year so they could pay Morrison $4m to play for them. Loney is awful, but why compound it by bringing in a guy no better, and much worse off the field, for an extra $4m?

Why? How? He's a jerk, plus he's a terrible baseball player.

Discuss.

I don't have a lot of opinions about Morrison. But I agree with your point about how it's baffling that some guys keep getting chances year after year, despite not doing much when they get their chance.

Former top 50 prospect, good walk to K rate in the minors and in the majors his K rate isn't awful. Low babip guy and not crazy expensive at 5 million. I can kinda see why a team would roll the dice.

He's generally low babip but was worse in 2015. http://www.fangraphs.com/graphs.aspx?pl ... &type=full

I can kinda see it, LF/1B type, some power potential. I'm not saying I totally get it, but I can kinda see why a team would take a risk on him for 1 year 5.
