As of 8/15:

Murphy is hitting .348/.387/.616 22HR 86 RBI.

Murph's been playing 1B exclusively with Zimmerman on the DL. Turner has played well at 2B.

Washington's got a really good team.

The only team in MLB that is "really good" IMO is the Cubs, and they haven't dominated all season. The Nats have a few issues, especially in middle relief and CF has been super bad while Harper and Werth have been average for COF production. They are certainly a good team, but they could have used an OF at the deadline.

Either way, the playoffs are a crapshoot and we'll see if Murph can carry them all the way instead of just 2/3 of the way like he did for us.

Strasburg's on the DL with elbow soreness.

Tough break.

I know it doesn't matter, but Murph had a pretty sweet 2-run error last night.

Dusty Baker should be barred from letting Murph play 2B - I don't care about Zimmerman and how good he used to be, Murph needs to be at 1B and Turner at 2B if they want to win it all.

Murphy had another HR tonight.

Hitting .346 with 25 HR and 98 RBI and it's not even September yet. Totally unreal

Murphy's average season as a Met over 6 full years:

.287 /.328/.422
36 doubles
10 HR
64 RBI

Totally unreal indeed.

Not for nothing, but Murphy's also having arguably his worst season defensively, pound-for-pound.

Surprised to see Starlin Castro right down there with him. And Neil Walker is at the top in UZR but neutral in DRS.

The Nats are a better overall team when Murph is at 1B, Turner is at 2B and Zimmerman is not in the lineup.

Why don't they flip Rendon and Murphy?

Murph got thrown out trying to steal in the 7th inning as the tying run, as the Nats lost the opener of their series v. the Dodgers.

Murph went 3-3 with a couple ribeye steaks as the Nats tie up their series heading to LA.

Mets sure could have used a bat like that in their WC game
