Who cares what Ochocinco said in a book? I mean, honestly? Was Reilly expecting some sort of literary breakthrough here?

The only reason Reilly wrote that column was because it was low hanging fruit, and if there's anything Rick Reilly loves in this world, it's doing the least amount of work possible for his ridiculous paycheck. I haven't read the book either, but I'm willing to bet that most of those passages are hyperbole. Ochocinco says stuff like that all the time for laughs, the boxing angle is nothing new; after he raced the horse he called out Mayweather on ESPN.

As has been said in this column, Johnson does not get in trouble off the field, he goes out of his way to connect with fans, and he never loses sight of the fact that at end of the day, he's paid to entertain people.

I'm not saying he doesn't do any good, and sometimes I find him amusing. Most of the time, though, I end up rolling my eyes and wishing he would be quiet more.

Ocho Cinco teamed up with Motorola to buy enough tickets to ensure that there wouldn't be a blackout this weekend in Cincinnati:

Well... that's a little misleading. It says, "The Bengals, Local 12 (CBS affiliate WKRC-TV in Cincinnati) and Motorola worked together to ensure the blackout would be lifted."

So, it looks like it's the entire Bengals organization and Chad Johnson just got a new marketing deal with Motorola.

Here's another article:

Quote:
CINCINNATI -- The Bengals avoided a local television blackout for their game against the Houston Texans -- with an assist from Motorola and receiver Chad Ochocinco.

The club announced on Friday that it had sold enough tickets for Sunday's game to keep its streak intact. The past 46 Bengals games have been shown on local television.

More than 3,000 tickets remained on Thursday, when the club got a one-day extension from the NFL for avoiding a blackout.

Motorola, which is a longtime Bengals sponsor and has a partnership with Ochocinco, bought 1,200 tickets and will give them away Saturday -- with the receiver's help -- at Paul Brown Stadium.

The Bengals (4-1) have won four in a row and are in sole possession of first place in the AFC North.

Ochocinco fined for attempting to "bribe" an official with $1:

Quote:
Chad Ochocinco has been fined $20,000 by the NFL for his $1 "bribe" of an official in last week's Bengals-Ravens game, team and league sources tell ESPN senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen.

The NFL also cited the Bengals wide receiver's use of the word "bribe" in his postgame comments to reporters.

Pretty ridiculous if you ask me.

I think for all his bravado, he's a good guy. NFL often stands for no fun league. sports used to be filled with guys who were 'characters'. Chad's refreshing, but that's just my opinion

How many people have fun on their jobs let alone life?

And as I stated earlier, he doesn't get in trouble with the law
