Just looking at QB stats for this year. Favre is having an absolutely spectacular season so far. His numbers are really extraordinary. I know Manning is considered a lock for MVP, but Favre really deserves strong consideration. Never really been much of a fan, but check out what he's done so far.

He's been great(though the Vikings haven't asked him to do much).

I still think GB made the right decision, Aaron Rodgers is a hell of a player.

Yes, Rodgers is a very good QB. And there are quite a few of them in the NFL right now - Warner, Schaub, Rodgers, Romo, Big Ben, McNabb, Eli, Flacco, Ryan, Rivers, Palmer are all good to great. Of course, there's Favre, Manning, and Brady. Some would put Brees with this elite group, but having watched him closely I'd put him with the other group. He is very good, but his receivers are outrageously good and make him seem better than he is.

actually GB clearly made the wrong choice -- they gave up on a QB who, years later, has a TD to INT ratio of 21:3 -- so they clearly did not need to burn a 1st round pick on Rogers when the old QB is having an MVP season 5 years after they drafted Rogers.

case in point -- if they hadn't been so busy running favre out of town and looking for and grooming rogers and instead went after Moss like Favre had wanted them too, they zbsolutely would have had the guns to get by the Giants.

They had zero need to replace a QB when they drafted Rogers and if they'd kept Favre this year clearly shows they still would have zero need to replace the QB.

FART!

A-Rod III clearly was the right move. I would take him on my team ANYDAY! Did you see where he was drafted? Have you seen the players who went ahead of him? Ask about any team who doesnt have a QB thats above average and they will take him over favre 100% of the time. While number 4 is looking Brees like this year, hes still one bad game from losing his cool. Oh yea Favre is also playing with a Team that surrounds him with an offensive line that protects him almost every snap and a defense/special teams that put him in great situation on the field. Give Rogers that O-Line and hes throwing 68 yard bombs to Driver and Jennings all day.

Looking at QB's in this league, here is how I would rank the top 7

Manning
Brees
Brady
Rogers
Favre
Rivers
Schaub

The rest are good then bad then very good. Not consistent enough for me to even both putting them in to make top 10. This includes ELI who I would rank around 15th in the League. Rogers is not only a Special talent, he can produce with that talent. Oh and he has with basically no O-Line, a team that has been riddled with O-Line penalties (most in the league) and a number 1 receiver who has been bust for the most part. He does have a decent running game.

Oh and hes a Nasty Fantasy Football QB :D

Brees is a really good QB, but I'm sticking with no better than Rodgers or Romo. And that is far from an insult to Brees. All 3 of these are great athletes who can make plays out of nothing.

The problem with your brees criticism is that you credit his weapons. However last year he thru for 5,000 yards without 1 1,000 yard receiver. I think Brees makes his weapons better, not the other way around. As shown by last night's game. Brees struggled and the Saints lost.

I think it's far from a Brees criticism, more like a qualifier. What I'm saying is that Romo and Rodgers are similar QB's in style, and, to my mind, as good or close to as good, but both have impediments Brees doesn't have. In Romo's case it's quality of receivers (Austin certainly is helping close the gap) and in Rodgers' case it's weather (Rodgers, like Brees, has a great corps of receivers). I think Brees is really, really good.
