Rolle is getting his physical with the G-Men.

David Carr is looking like he is going to sign with the 49ers. Hmm

Antoine Bethea has also been contacted by the Giants. OJ Atogwe also has but the Rolle deal seems to bely that from happening.

Rolle's a Giant. 5 year deal/$37 million with a $15 million signing bonus.

An obvious upgrade over Johnson, CC, and Rouse (who they cut). What do you think of the money they gave him? Assuming KP is healthy it is going to be funny hearing on the NBC games: Antrel Rolle "The U", Kenny Phillips "The U" back to back in the intros. With those two guys at the safeties hopefully Giants fans will not have to endure 50+ yard TD's from DeSean Jackson and Miles Austin two games a year. Just quickly looking at the opponents next year the Giants will have to face Calvin Johnson, Greg Jennings, Andre Johnson, Reggie Wayne, Sidney Rice, Percy Harvin, and Steve Smith. Those guys might be busy next year...

I heard he was offered more money per yer by Chicago but with a shorter contract. He wanted to come here than stay in Arizona or go to Chicago. He got more years and probably a larger signing bonus was given in all likelihood. While Reese's track record on free agent signings is not the best his value of draft picks have so if signing a Rolle plays into not going after certain players due to their tender sheets of draft picks, then I do understand the move. Rolle is aggressive which is both a positive and negative. The Cardinals released for the simple issue of money, they wanted him back and were about to offer a similar deal. He is young and has found his place in the NFL in a new position.

I do hope Kenny comes back but I would not be surprised if early (3rd/4th round) they take a safety in the vein of Reshad Jones or Morgan Burnett. Good players but many speculated before the Rolle signing that at best they sign a veteran like Sharper but draft an Earl Thomas or Taylor Mays with their first round pick. This pick makes me think they go for a defensive lineman or a LB- which I hope is Rolando McClain. I think the DEs this draft are not that good, Dunlap and Jason Pierre-Paul are the only guys I am remotely interested in, Reese could take Griffen if he falls in the second round. Jerry likes Pac-10 kids.

As far as DTs I dream of a Baby Sapp or even just a Kevin Williams clone. Still a lot to ask for, I know. Alford may have that but he has a small track record. Love Cofield but he is a NT. Lots of people like Brian Price from UCLA or Dan Williams from Tennessee, who I think would be reaches in pick #15 but I do see them as low first round to early second round picks- not where the Giants are.

Fred Robbins has gone to be with Spags. I do wonder if he will not be the only Giant who all of the sudden is wearing a Rams jersey.

Kampman signed with the Jaguars so maybe the Pack would be interested in Osi.

QB Jim Sorgi is reportedly taking a physical with the Giants. Considering the other options, since Carr went to San Francisco, were Brunnell and Jeff Garcia, I can accept this.

Sorgi was the quarterback behind Peyton Manning in Indy..now he'll be behind Eli at the Meadowlands

Godspeed Mr. Sorgi!

And Marlin Jackson also leaves Indy as he's signed to play for the Eagles. I'll miss seeing Marlin as he was one of my favorites for the colts

Kevin Dockery is going to St. Louis for a visit.

We signed Jy Bond of Aussie Rules Football supposedly.

Feagles and Giants are at a contract standstill. Feagles wants to stay but some things have to come to an end at some point.

Lots of stuff happened:

Deon Grant got signed to a one-year deal but Fewell says Kenny Phillips is right on schedule. Good insurance policy, I guess.

Danny Clark seems to be a guy on the way out.

Jeff Feagles is staying on for another season.

They re-signed Kevin Boothe.

I don't know much about Grant but he has to be an upgrade over CC Brown.

Do you think it will be a legit competition between Feagles and Bond? Is it possible that they keep both on the roster and where they are on the field dictates which punter they use (on their own 20, use Bond and on the opposing 40, use Feagles type of thing)? I would think that Coughlin would hate to carry two punters on the 53 man roster and the 45 man roster for games.

It is far likelier they keep two place kickers on the roster than two punters. Feagles just was not up to snuff last season so maybe the competition is open. As far as PKs, I am not so sure Lawrence Tynes will be one of the two here.
