I am of the belief that Rex should have saved his timeouts instead of calling them with 4 minutes left in the game. I also believe the Jets should not have gone for it on 4th and long with 2:40 left. Punt the ball and take them out of field goal range. Then if you get the stop, you have some time left and it is a one score game.
Nick Folk has been excellent for us, but his miss today really hurt us. Would have been huge to tie the game at that point.
The two picks were garbage. Both were catches for the Jets. The NFL rules seem to be tested every week, and it was the Jets turn this week.

I think Rex should have gone for it on 4th and 1 instead of trying for a field goal to tie. He already saw how difficult the winds were on that side of the field for the GB kicker. Folk also bears watching as weather conditions start coming into play. It's one thing to kick in sunny 70 degree weather, its another to start kicking in wind, rain, and snow.

Now if we can only get rid of the Wilpons and replaced them with Mark Cuban the STO master plan can be complete!
Bottom line is, without looking at the score, if Greene has just 6 carries, Keller 2 catches, Santonio 3...you can make a pretty good bet that this team didn't win the game.
Schotty needs to stop trying to spread the ball around as much as possible and placate everybody. The formula every week should be 35 carries, and get the ball to your playmakers as much as possible. Cotchery is an organizational soldier, but he should be the 5th receiving option...not targeted 13 times. Thats awful. Keller, Santonio and the backs...thats who you need to get the ball to. It seems like every year, we get to the point where Schottenheimer starts trying to reinvent the wheel on offense to pad his resume as he starts to hear about coaches' seats getting hot and an offensive lull arises. You had a team with a soft interior who wanted to blitz the outside a lot...how we didn't attack the middle of the field more is beyond me. I had Keller and Greene pegged for huge days and they were barely even looked at.
That said, receivers gotta squeeze the ball. Cotch had 3 or 4 bad drops, Santonio should've taken that crossing route to the house, etc. Defense is good enough that you can have a bad offensive day and still win...but you can't have an atrocious offensive day, with playcalling and performance, and still expect to skate by.
Got a soft spot in the schedule coming up...don't take the foot off the gas, take care of business, and be in good position for what will be a tough December.

It's not as cut and dry as you're making it out to be. I agree they got away from the run too much and should have definitely had Greene far more involved. However, it's not as if Schotty goes into the game planning on targeting Cotchery 13 times. First of all, Cotchery is much better than you make him out to be - he just had a terrible game. He has the best hands on the team. Secondly, the Packers do have one of the top CB duos in the league. Charles Woodson is a star and Tramon Williams has probably been even better than Woodson this year. I wouldn't pin it on Schotty - if Holmes and Cotchery don't drop passes all over the place the Jets probably win.
Jets looking better on defense and finally a decent offensive drive, derailed in part by another Cotchery drop. 5 in 2 weeks...said it last week, just should not be a focal point in the offense at this point. Too many other weapons, and need to focus on running the ball, not trying to run these quick 1 step routes into traffic. Power run and play action; don't get cute.
