So I normally only have 2 teams, bother keeper leagues, one I share with my brother. My friend needed an extra owner in a new non-keeper Yahoo league... I got the #1 pick... who would you take #1?

I would take Peterson with the 1st pick. To me he is the safest player to take, and I think when you are picking in the early rounds of a fantasy draft you want to take safe players. Foster might have the higher upside, but he has only done it one year. He also lost Vonta Leach as his fullback who is a very good blocker. AP has played for four years and been very consistent. His rushing totals in those four years are 1341, 1760, 1383, and 1298. He has gotten at least 10 TD's in every year as well. I don't claim to be one of those "experts" on fantasy football (whatever that means). Just my opinion. Good luck. Feel free to rip on me if AP gets hurt and Foster has another year like he did last year. :)

Thanks for the response. I'm really torn between AP and Foster. I'll flip a coin lol

Trade the pick. Do you know the other people picking in the league you have the 1st pick in? Knowing who these guys will take help. I've played with the same people in one of the leagues 6 years straight. 5 of those years I had the number 1 RB in the entire league

I had the 1st and traded it for the 7th. Same like last year. Last years draft net me

Rodgers
White
Jennings
Nicks
Foster
Mccoy
St. Jackson (BU)
Finley
Pack DST

Finished in 1st place with the most points as well. Took the entire pot this time

Finished in 2nd place year before last due to starting steven jackson who didnt play. Lost by 6 points. That team had CJ2K in his 2k year, Rodgers, Vincent Jackson, sidney rice, steven jackson, cant remember TE and cant remember anyone else. To think I almost won that game as well. Except other guy started Berrian (had a higher waiver pick than I when I attempted to pick him up) and I ended up losing by 6. Would have been worse if Rice didnt catch that TD pass. I believe game went into OT too.

To get back on track now, just trade it. No one I have ever played with has ever done well with the 10th pick or the 1st. Although drafting is only 70% of it IMO. Waiver wire picks/match up stars plays a big role too. If you ned any advice pre draft, hit me up.

Never finished worst than 5th ever and have multi-championship seasons. None back to back though.

10 team league. Take Jennings out as he was drafted in my other league with calvin johnson, rodgers and boldin. My RB were Thomas (saints) and Foster (PPR). Finished in 1st with most points as well in that 2nd league. And thats with Thomas hurt.

I have IMO some of the smartest players in the league I have ever played with but that year everyone was in agreement to do the draft early. We drafted in early july (offline) in both leagues. The third league, foster went 6th rd and one pick before me. I could have had him in all three of my leagues. That third leagues draft was august. I got charles, and rice (4th pick in the draft, no would would trade for it) in the third. Rice screwed me. I also had Calvin Johnson and Nicks and Knox in that draft. I took knox in the 7th thinking he would explode. He did end up tied in Receptions and had the most rec. yds. No bad 3rd wr.

Who should I start this week? Dez Bryant vs NYJ or Julio Jones vs CHI?

I want to start Bryant but I'm skeptical of his production vs Jets' defense. On the flipside, Rotoworld claims Jones is going to be the "1-A" to Roddy White's "1", but I'm not sure if I should start him right out of the gate.

The Bears back part of the D IMO, is suspect. The bears believe this as well, Im sure of it. One issue I have is the Falcons also have another emerging WR in Douglas. A guy who could finish with 55 receptions. That will take away what is sure to be a run first offense, even with the added WR, the improvement of another WR and the fact that Matt Ryan has made significant strides. With that said, I am starting Julio Jones. I saw enough to know that hes going to produce for me on certain weeks. This week is one of them.

Dez Bryant is a Beast. His OL is a huge question mark however and hes going up against two of the better corners. Typically big games come in the beginning of season (mostly first games of the year) and Defenses are almost never what they should be early in the season (which is why I expect the Ravens and Steelers to become a shootout 24-20. Yes thats a shootout by that matchups standards  )

Obviously I didnt give you a clear answer. Just an idea. Tell me who you have on your team and who your opponent is starting. I can better help you from there.

Just to point something out, I started Meachem as my Flex and Nelson as my wr3. I sat Colston and it panned out. I think for the first time in 3 years, meachem is finally going to pan out for me. Just like Bowe last year finally pans out for me. Had him 3 years in a row. Not saying hes going to put up bowe like number. More like Manningham numbers (last year, maybe a tad better).

I can start 2 WR and 1 WR/RB flex. Currently I'm starting Welker and Jones, with Blount as my flex. My other 2 starting RBs are Hillis and Forte so its a no-go to start all 3 of Welker, Jones, and Bryant.

My opponent, at least as of now, is starting: Eli Manning, Peterson, Gore, Mike Williams, Nicks, Bowe, Gronkowski, Cowboys' defense, Feely.

Somebody on another board advised to go with Jones; he thinks Atlanta will showcase him right away. Bryant in San Francisco next week should be more juicy.

Who would you start as a 3rd WR between Steve Smith (Carolina), Hines Ward, and Michael Crabtree?

Also, Cedric Benson or Brandon Jacobs?

And last, Tony Gonzalez or drop him to pick up Lance Kendricks?

I don't particularly like Ward, but I'd cautiously say go with him. Steve Smith is on a team with no other good WR's and a rookie QB. I like Michael Crabtree a little but it seems like he'll be fighting for reps with Tedd Ginn just to be the team's 3rd WR, at least to start the season. Oh and his QB sucks too.

I mean, its up to you. I think Smith would get the most targets between the 3, but I'm not sure if that will end up meaning anything when you consider the rookie QB and the fact hes the only functional WR on that roster.

I would go with Benson. He gets more carries and the Browns' run defense wasn't much better than the Redskins'.

Funny enough, I just picked up Kendricks for my bench (Vernon Davis is my primary TE). Anyway, I'd start Kendricks over Gonzalez. Maybe I'm just blurred by the preseason, but I really think hes going to play a surprisingly big role in that offense. I also think their receivers will get shut down by the Eagles' defense which may entice Bradford to target Kendricks more. Gonzalez is another year older and the Falcons have more weapons on the passing side. Kendricks is definitely the better upside play IMO.

I Dont particularly like any of the 3 WR. Ward is your best bet here (safest). Who is on the waiver wire? Is this a PPR league?

Benson vs jacobs to me is tough. Others would point out Benson as he looked really good running the ball in preseason IMO. He does real well (YPC wise) vs the Browns. However as a Giants fan, I believe jacobs is going to put up comparable numbers to bradshaw this year. At least early he will. Minus the receptions, but with more TDs. Safer pick is Benson so go with him. I will say this, Jacobs will get equal carries with Bradshaw (not equal snaps though) and goal line work as well. He basically got himself put back in that role after showing TC hes got his mojo back.

Giants, despite 4000+ passing yards, are a run first team. Brandshaw and Jacobs have been informed that they will both get more carries this year. With a decimated Defense however, the Giants will start the game running and possibly abandon it if they find themselves down early in the game. As a Giants fan, I hope thats not the case.

Again, making Benson the safer and better choice. At least until the Giants Defense can show me something. Week 1 starts are always the toughest.

I wouldnt start Gonzalez as hes likely the 5th option in the passing game this year. Maybe 4th option. I think snelling poaches some receptions from him this year. Kendricks should be your best bet. Gonzalez at best is a redzone target.
