I often think that, as fans, we're guilty of overreacting to game results. And I'm not a Colt fan.

But I was surprised watching the post-game handshakes after the Saints beat the Colts, 62-7, to see one of the Colts smiling and laughing as he spoke to one of the Saints.

You just took a historic butt kicking and you're yucking it up minutes after the final whistle with one of the guys who kicked your team's butt?

I may be wrong to think it was out of place, but I don't think so.

Poor Jim Caldwell looked as if he wanted to be alone as he walked off the field and there were numerous shots of embarrassed Colts staring off into space as they sat on the bench as the game wound down.

I doubt they would have appreciated seeing one of their teammates being so jovial.

After a good, competitive game, I think it's okay... but when you get mauled like that, there shouldn't be any smiles. I'd be pissed as a fan or a teammate if I saw that. Unfortunately, I think that's just the nature of sports nowadays. You see that "buddy on the other team" type of stuff EVERYWHERE.

On the topic of the Colts, eesh, they look absolutely horrendous without Peyton Manning. It's amazing how many holes he can cover up. I'm not totally sure whose worse - Miami or Indy. I'm still leaning Miami... at least the Colts got smacked by a very good offense and didn't choke away a 15-0 lead in the final 5 minutes to another bad team... And seriously, Tim Tebow sucked so badly up until that point: per a stat I saw on Twitter - Tebow, 1st 54+ mins: 4-14, 40 yds, 0 tds, 39.6 rating. Final 5+ min of 4thQ: 9-13, 121 yds, 2 tds, 138.1 rating ... It's as if Miami is just dying to get Andrew Luck.

I'm pretty sure something like that caused Howard Cosell to "ban" the Jets from appearing on Monday Night Football for a number of years. I think he saw one of the Jets laughing on the sidelines as they were getting their butts kicked by New England in the mid 70's and said that they would never appear on MNF because of that incident.

The laughing Colt was multiple Pro Bowl center Jeff Saturday

Here's a link to a picture of his laughing encounter with Drew Brees, who had just embarrassed the Colts.

Once you're down 30, what can you do but laugh?

I was out of town the whole week and as a Colts fan, I wondered how this game would go

Had to do a double take on finding out the score..wow.

I know the NFL stands for , "Not For Long", but what a collapse this team has been this season.

Was there any reaction in Indianapolis to Jeff Saturday joking around after his team got crushed?

Or does he get a pass for being a tough guy who did a lot of dirty work for their great teams?

Ray Lewis was also really friendly after last night's pitiful performance against Jacksonville.

It's just the nature of the game, really.

Haven't had a chance to tune into the talk shows, or read the Indy Star Kravitz(Bob) Column regarding the game or Saturday

But before the season, indy sports talk has been filled with fan laments about the colts not finding an adequate Number 2 for Peyton, should injury happen. Also the front office has been ripped for not dealing with the offensive front line issues. Now, the 'fire caldwell, bring back Dungy' chants are swelling. And the 'tampa two' defensive strategy which has worked in the past is being questioned

But your point on Saturday is well taken. He has been teflon with fans and media

Losing Peyton is one thing, but the Colts defense has been atrocious.

Steve, I think that too is due in part to losing Peyton. The best defense is a good offense, right? If Peyton is driving down the field, the Colt D is not on the field. The less time your defense plays, the better it looks.

Brees and Saturday played big roles during the lockout. They could have become good buddies during that time and that is why they had that friendly talk after the game. I understand why some fans like to analyze this type of stuff, but I just find it hard to criticize someone when you don't know what they said.
