Not good to hear. If not re-signing Ross, we may need to spend a draft pick on another CB.

I wonder who the Giants use to replace Jacobs production. His number dont inspire anyone but there were times when we needed him and he stepped up big. Is Dj the guy now? Scott was pretty much an inactive for most of the season. Do we start to trust him? Giants have been very fortunate to have a player like jacobs IMO. I wouldnt mind if the Giants went out there and drafted a RB in one of the first 2 rounds. Even though OL and LB is more of a concern. Maybe Brewer and Beaty will solve that issue come 2012? Then again maybe Scott pulls a Victor Cruz and plays well in 2012? He does give the GMen a new dimension as far as speed is concerned.

So far, have seen picks for the Giants range from Fleener to Jonathon Martin (both of Stanford) to Andre Branch or Dont'a Hightower (no way he'll be there). To me, Fleener in the first round is a mistake. Martellus has a ton of raw talent, which I think paired with Eli will help get the most out of it. I doubt the Giants leadership, questioned in recent years after Strahan left, will allow him to slack. I think the pick should be an OT based upon who is available. I doubt they try to trade up as Jerry loves building through the draft. I could definitely see a Jonathon Martin as a Giants-type player: smart and athletically polished but raw. I personally would like someone a little more polished as the knock on Martin is he won't blow anyone away on either pass or run blocking. Getting someone to contribute immediately is paramount if they go with a blocker. No matter what, I am completely confident the Giants will make all of the "experts" look silly again by picking the BPA in a position they may not necessarily need but is talented nonetheless.

Really like the moves the Giants made. Getting Rivers is a great high risk, high reward. I am also a fan of their signing of Locklear for OL depth and getting someone to replace Ross in Molden.

Keith Rivers is good value for what we gave up but I really want us to take linebacker in one of our Day 2 picks.

As for picks, I like Fleener but I am beginning to doubt if he will even be there, much like Luke Kuechly. NFL's a copycat league and the Aaron Hernandez comparisons could definitely have some team take him mid-to late first round to pair him with another TE. Recent popular speculation, Harbaugh taking his guy Fleener to pair with Vernon Davis. That honestly does scare me more than the signing of Manningham or Moss.

Want no part of Dwayne Allen, the consensus #2 TE. Orson Charles got in some off-field trouble. Given Bradshaw fell to us in Round 7 because of his off the field issues at Marshall, it is not like the Giants shun these picks. I like Charles more than Allen but I think that is because I find the depth at TE in this draft to be bleak and if Ballard can come back with Bennett, I think this is one of those position picks that was a temporary worry than NEED.

Doug Martin and Lamar Miller are other popular choices. Martin especially. Nobody has BJ's size in this draft. I actually would not mind Doug Martin but I wouldn't mind taking a flier on LaMichael James in Day 2, who is a Jerry Reese pick in SPADES.

I hate Ohio State offensive linemen (Mangold was an obvious exception to this rule because he maintained good conditioning and combines after their bowl games unlike several others) and if I hear Mike Adams to the Giants one more time, I will look like that dude from Scanners. Ernie Accorsi would be all over the Big Ten offensive linemen, but I would rather set my sights on the Wisconsin guys than Adams. Jonathan Martin's recent fall, graded behind Reiff and Kalil, seems a bit late in the game which concerns me. I was expecting his teammate David DeCastro to be more available than him but alas, the opposite has happened. Bobbie Massie is a guy who has risen as much as Martin has fallen. One has a great ceiling while the other seems more like a guy the Giants would take. Not spectacular but a guy to plug in on the right side with little concern, especially when his strengths are run-blocking.

Cordy Glenn is a guy on the radar, at least for me, for his versatility but another name is Amini Silatou from Northwestern State who has made a possible surge to 1st round.

I can definitely see the Giants simply going for BPA a la Prince.

Now would we go for a wideout to replace Manningham. I find it a little arrogant to assume Jernigan suddenly becomes a Steve Smith slot guy over night.

Stephen Hill is RAW but Jerry Reese has gone to his pro-day. You could say that Ramses Barden's failure makes this pick have a bit of a dark cloud over it since Hill has Barden's size and of course, the raw quality. Kendall Wright has gotten some play but there are a lot of discrepancies over his draft grade because people think his numbers are all RGIII numbers the way Brett Favre's receivers in his prime had these all-pro numbers but without him could only be seen as #2 WRs. I could see him falling into Round 2.

I find it hard to believe we will draft ANOTHER DE and that Osi will somehow be playing with the team this year. It seems people are gunning once again for the year of his exit. I know Tolly left, which made me sad, but it would have to be a guy in Prince's position last draft, somebody who really shouldn't have fallen this low. Branch or Perry do not fit that grade, but I know JR likes guys out of the Pac 12. Chandler Jones.... maybe.

And Troy D-Lineman alert, how bizarre would it be if we took Jonathan Massquoi from Osi's school to be Osi's heir apparent?

I have no set in stone pick. I am making a mock and I am certain my Giants pick is going to be different from how I am going to feel on Thursday.

And as for LB, I know Hightower is another popular pick but I feel like the streak continues. I think Massoquoi is the closest thing to a LB (and he's a hybrid) that they are going to get in this draft. I love Zach Brown and think he could be a possibility but as a first round pick than a Day 2 pick because I think he will immediately be off the board in Round 2.

Prospectus....I agree with Rivers, we do still need a good LB in the early rounds. A Fleener and Davis tandem is perhaps more terrifying than Gronk/Ahern. As for the Big Ten guys, I know you know that Wisconsin is in the conference, what in your mind is different with them than the rest of the conference? Knowing the way Reese has drafted, it is pretty clear he will go BPA, so it will be interesting to see who they actually do end up taking. This is why the Giants are perpetually a team that projecting for is near worthless. The Giants are one of the few teams in the league capable of taking a player with some character issues as they are such a strong clubhouse, supported by a strong coaching and front office staff.

Any clues if Da'rel Scott can return kicks? If not, LaMichael James could be an interesting pick as well. Also, Mohamed Sanu could also be an 2nd or 3rd round pick.

Wright made some plays on the ball that make me believe he is NOT a product of his QB. IMO he is the 2nd best WR in this draft despite how others have rated him. If he goes to a team with a decent enough QB and a need at a WR2, he will have his chance to shine. I've seen just about every game hes played and he is LEGIT.

It is a mix of my OSU bias and the track record they have with linemen out of shape. The overall track record of that conference is mixed with OL but Wisconsin does not have the type of boom bust guys. I didn't even mention Adams' failed drug test that will likely push him out of the first.

All time favorite Giants draft related freak out sans my own personal one of JPP has to be the love affair over Joe Staley by the media. It is like people take it personally when the Giants do not pick the guy Kiper says they will take.

Hightower seems like a Ravens pick so I am all in on Fleener, Martin and possibly Zeitler and Glenn.

James or Turbin are my Day 2 backs. Sani is also a good Day 2 guy.

FWIW Gil Brandt thinks the Giants are not in the business for LBs and should take Fleener.
