Being a Bills fan is a lot like being a Mets fan these days.
At least I have the Penguins and Cuse.

Mario and Meachem apparently in town tonight, China.
As a Jet fan but looking out for a good guy who could use some good news in the football realm, I sincerely hope you guys land your big fish tonight: Robert Meachem.

I might pass out before I finish this sentence, but the current rumor is that Mario and Meachem are both going to sign within the next 24 hours. The Bills FO is on record as saying resources are not going to be an issues and they want all of this done before Friday. I think there is going to be an expiration date on the offers, and I think they're going to offer Mario the biggest contract for an DE in history so....

Phew. Looks like he got out of there.

NFL.com's Jason La Canfora reports free agent DE/OLB Mario Williams will leave Buffalo without signing, and is expected to make at least one more visit. The Bills had Williams right where they wanted him, but couldn't seal the deal. Williams does not appear to be ruling out taking his talents to Buffalo, but the odds have certainly decreased. It's unknown where else Williams is planning to visit, but NFL.com's Michael Lombardi reported Tuesday the Bears have dropped out of the running.

Rough sequence for Zach. This came out of nowhere.
Quote:
Chargers signed WR Robert Meachem to a four-year, $25.9 million contract. So much for Meachem not making it out of Buffalo. The deal includes $14 million guaranteed. It's a huge contract for someone who was something of an underachiever during his four seasons in New Orleans. Meachem drew heavy interest from the get-go Tuesday, however, and is still viewed as a potential No. 1 receiver in some circles. That's what he'll have to be in San Diego after the Bolts lost Vincent Jackson to the Bucs. That, of course, bodes well for Meachem's fantasy value even though he's leaving the NFL's most prolific passing attack. He's a good bet to best his career-best line of 45/722/9 from 2009 next season.
