Bills signed DE/OLB Mario Williams to a six-year, $100 million contract. The first ever $100 million contract for a defensive player includes $50 million guaranteed. The deal dwarves the then record six-year, $84 million pact signed by Bears RE Julius Peppers in March 2010. Peppers' deal included $42 million guaranteed. From a football perspective, the Bills provide Williams a chance to move back to his natural position of defensive end as they switch from a 3-4 to 4-3 defensive front. The No. 1 overall pick of the 2006 draft has notched 53.5 sacks in 82 career games.

Yeah.
I am happy about this.
Nix said pretty flatly that they're done in the major FA market, but fans are throwing the words "franchise-changer" around. Folks seem pretty okay with this situation.
The new (totally fake) rumor is that Aaron Schobel is considering coming out of retirement to join Dareus and Kyle and Mario Williams (and Chris Kelsay). Not going to happen, but it's fun to think about.

Williams still looks like a possibility and the Bills can spend a draft pick on Michael Floyd.
Lots of people assume this is the plan.

Pardon me for bumping some old stuff, haven't viewed this board in awhile (actually forgot it existed, oops), but with the Mets' season turning to shambles, I'm starting to focus more on football. Anyway - love the Bills' defensive line, it's going to be really, really good if Mario stays healthy. I'm already nervous about Mario and Anderson manhandling the Jets' tackles in Week 1.
I've read a lot of positive things about Stephon Gilmore too; he should help their secondary.
I'm not sure what to really think of Ryan Fitzpatrick; he was really good for an early stretch and then turned to complete crap.
