DeSean Jackson got an extension. LeSean McCoy appears to be next.

Peyton Hillis has signed with the Chiefs.

Le'Ron McClain has signed with the Chargers so it appears Tolbert is out.

Jaguars seriously overpay for Laurent Robinson.

Mario Manningham is visiting the 49ers facilities. Buffalo and Miami also in the mix.

Dolphins re-sign Paul Solai.

Cardinals sign Adam Snyder.

Bucs release Jeff Faine.

Browns release G Eric Steinbach.

Titans talking to Scott Wells as well as Chris Meyers.

Pats re-sign Matt Slater.

Cowboys sign Lawrence Vickers and Mackenzy Bernadeau.

Raiders release Cooper Carlisle and John Henderson.

Danny Amendola appears to be taking the Wes Welker path as a RFA pick-up for New England. He's been spotted in Foxboro.

Browns re-sign Dimitri Patterson.

Saints sign Ben Grubbs to replace Carl Nicks. Ravens but sure up that O-Line in the draft because it seems like a foregone conclusion Birk will retire.

Seahawks release Robert Gallery and re-sign Paul McQuistan. Let me just take a trip to memory lane during Giants Draft Party in the Meadowlands bubble circa 2004 with Giants fans freaking out that the Raiders took Gallery which made the Giants getting a QB a certainty.

Dolphins sign CB Richard Marshall to a 3 year deal.

Jaguars re-sign CJ Mosely.

Bucs sign Dan Orlovsky to back-up Freeman.

Cowboys sign Brodney Pool.

Cowboys have plans on move Dan Kosier to Center from Guard. Don't be surprised if they go after a Guard for their first round pick a la David DeCastro from Stanford.

To be fair, Gallery came out of college really impressive.

Gallery was a good player when he moved to Guard but that after being poorly coached and thrown to the Wolves. In a draft redux, I think he still would have a 1st round distinction just not top 2, top 5, or top 10.

Cowboys signed Dan Connor. Nittany Lions reunion on the inside! James a/o Brooking look like goners.

Charger sign OT Jared Gaither.

Titans sign Steve Hutchinson.

Browns sign DE Juqua Parker.

Dolphins re-sign Steve Slaton.

So we go from Reggie Wayne as the red herring package deal for Peyton to Jeff Saturday. Should be noted that the Titans and Dolphins both have their center spot open.

49ers release Shawnte Spencer. Texans are interested. 49ers sign RB Rock Cartwright.

Redskins sign Brandon Merriweather. And a reminder that the Top Ten NFL Worst Free Agent Signings list is tonight on NFL Network. #1? The Redskins since 2000.

Jets sign Drew Stanton to further fulfill MJ>You's enjoyment of his sports teams.

John Abraham stays in Atlanta on a 3 year deal.

Eddie Royal is going to the Chargers.

Miami is out of the Peyton race but if Peyton signs with the Broncos they will be in the Tebow sweepstakes. Sorry, Stephen Ross you build a winner with top personnel and a QB who can throw- not on a gimmick.

Peyton wants a 5 year deal. I'd heavily invest on betting the under on the +/- that he could actually fulfill that amount of seasons.

49ers have emerged in The Manning Decision. Can Peyton and Harbaugh coexist?

Seahawks finally doing something, retaining their FB Michael Robinson.

Cowboys sign Nate Livings for Guard, ensuring that Kosier moves to Center.

Redskins sign Cedric Griffin.

Panthers sign Haruki Nakamura.

Biggest indicator that the Cardinals are now out of the Manning race: Kolb is getting his bonus.

Raiders are going to release Kamerion Wimbley.

Browns release Jayme Mitchell.

Colts sign Tom Zbikowski.

Matt Birk will stay with the Ravens. They still have multiple starting O-Line issues to address.

Chargers are pressuring Tolbert to re-sign and like many an AJ Smith negotiation it is not going well. I think Tolbert should look around. A few notable teams needs a runningback, especially one who is willing to split carries. Sounds like San Diego is looking elsewhere which may well just be a negotiating ploy but those ploys have worked against them.

Bears re-sign Craig Steltz.

Raiders close to signing CB Ron Bartell.

Jets sign Chaz Schilens.

Chiefs signed Kevin Boss.

Panthers sign LB Keny Onatolu.

I do not see Peyton in San Fran specifically because there is no way he gets along with Harbaugh. Peyton is much more composed than his own coaching and potentially just as good of a coach for that matter. Other than that, I think the Texans allowing Mario Williams to leave is an incredible mistake. He is incredible and it just shows Buffalo is poised to take the offensive in the next few years. However, reupping Fitz was clearly a rash decision and one I think they will be regretting very shortly. Ultimately, I think Peyton ends up in Denver followed by Miami. The cold weather and high altitude would be very surprising seeing Peyton there, though. Tennessee's offer of a "life-time" contract just reeks of desperation to me.

There are issues with each team of interest.

Broncos weapons are limited to Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker. The Broncos have done little in free agency to make their offense scarier. Even if say a Dallas Clark follows Peyton to Denver he is past him prime. I don't think Fox has much of an ego and would accept Peyton's demands on offense. To me they are the leader in the clubhouse.

Titans do have the weapons and Bud Adams is crazy just enough to bend over backwards for any of Peyton's demands. Plus it may be sweet to play Indy twice a year. They are second. The downside is that Bud Adams is a lunatic and Peyton may not want to play Indy twice a year and deal with that distraction.

49ers are Harbaugh's team and his personality seems to go against any coach Peyton has with possible exception to Jim Mora, who even at his lowest moments did not have the level of abrasiveness or arrogance Harbaugh has. Even with the new stadium under way San Fran has terrible facilities and I cannot think of a worst stadium for Peyton to play than Candlestick. Of course they have the weapons and are the closest to the Super Bowl. There is a theory that Peyton is consciously avoiding the NFC because he does not want to get in Eli's way and vice versa. But Peyton's time as a Super Bowl QB is running out.

Miami is out and probably good riddance because it seems they have no idea what they are doing and do not have a lot of weapons.

Cardinals should be in the lead but they have salary cap issues.

Eric Winston signs with the Chiefs to a 4 year deal.

Cowboys decided to release G Kyle Kosier.

Chris Meyers staying with the Texans.

Lions re-sign Jeff Backus and backup QB Shaun Hill.

Chargers re-sign Randy McMichael.

Redskins re-sign Rex Grossman.

Bengals sign CB Jason Allen.

Brady Quinn signs with the Chiefs.

Patriots sign Anthony Gonzalez and Brandon Lloyd.

Seahawks sign Jason Jones.

Iggles re-sign G Evan Mathis.

And finally, it appears that the Rams are negotiating with WR Mario Manningham.

Oh, boy. Where to begin?

QB effect

Matt Flynn after reportedly getting 'low-balled' by the Dolphins has signed with the Seahawks.

So what do the Dolphins do with no QB? They appear to be close to signing Alex Smith. The contract is something of an overpay. What a mess. I guess they were not hot on Ryan Tannenhill or thought it was too risky to hope he lands right in their laps.

So could this ensure that the 49ers will go all out for Peyton Manning? There is accordingly no indication where he intends to sign despite Steve Young playing Miss Cleo. Titans may be a year away from having the overall talent level of the 49ers but they are very close and have more money to give with also a considerable amount of comfort and familiarity for Peyton. Either the 49ers will hit a HR and sign Manning or strike out and have Colin Kaepernick as their starter which is a mystery. \

I already have my reaction to the news of Peyton going to the 49ers.

No, this news is not the USC QB depth chart situation circa 2002 but it took ten years and several flier miles to have Matt Leinart back up Carson Palmer again.

Reggie Nelson chooses to stay with the Bengals. Jarrett Bush and OJ Otogwe seem to be the new guys on the Jets' radar.

Atari Bigby signs with the Chargers.

After being traded from the Iggles to the Colts, Winston Justice has restructured his deal.

So Peyton seems to be close with the Broncos. Cautiously optimistic.

Tebowmania meltdown in 10.... 9.... 8....

I really hope the 49ers messed things up with Alex Smith and he doesn't return.

Tolbert has signed with the Panthers. This means that Jonathan Stewart could be on the trading block.

Patriots sign TE Daniel Fells.
