Figured the rest-of-us needed a space to chat about the draft, too. Plus that other place is going to be PRETTY boring from about 7pm until 11 or so, while there should be plenty otherwise to chat about.
Anyway, I'll start with the Jets, but again, feel free to make this place your own, Bills, Falcons, even Eagles fans.
-After rumors (that look like smokescreens now) all week of trading UP for a run at Richardson, SalPal now reporting than Tanny is exploring trading DOWN, which would be a first for him.
I think this is the way to go of the two strategies with all the holes. If you could somehow pick up an extra Day 1 or 2 pick somewhere, that'd be fantastic.

Cimini now hearing that while the Jets would absolutely take Ingram if he's there, they don't see him as a "have to have" guy.
Starting to really think that moving down is the best move here. I really don't want Michael Floyd, and if they see all the OLB/DE hybrids as the same, they'll be one who falls a bit. I could get behind a DeCastro pick, although I think thats going to be very unpopular if its the case.
Another option would be to have an eye on Bruce Irvin much later on down and again, try to stockpile picks. The problem really is there are so many immediate needs here, going to be really tough to fill them all.
-You need another decent RB option and fortify the line if you're going to seriously ground-and-pound it. If this offense is going to run the ball 40-something times a game like Rex and Sparano talk about, you can't do it with a line thats 40% leaky and a RB tandem like Greene/McKnight, who we have 0 idea if he can even be a "running back" and not just a gadget player/special teams guy.
-You need coverage help. The M2M on the outside is fine, but there is nobody on the roster that can cover an athletic tight end, LET ALONE the 2 freaks the Patriots have which is always going to be the measuring stick. Kyle Wilson? Nope, not even remotely physical enough. None of our linebackers have the speed to keep up with an eligible tackle downfield, let alone a TE. And Landry is not a coverage guy. Don't need to discuss Eric Smith, I don't think.
-You NEED to get some speed in the linebacking corps. As of 2013, its likely that only David Harris of the current group will still be here. So where else are you finding those guys both to inject some athleticism now (room for 1 starting OLB and a rotational ILB with Scott) and the future?
-Even if WR is deemphasized, you need to at least grab a guy late with some size and downfield ability. Chaz Schilens will not play more than 8 games this year. Patrick Turner...
-And then just overall org depth. Which is what later rounds are for, which is fine.
But yeah, ideally, you'd be picking like 4 or 5 immediate starters/rotational guys. You won't get that with just 1 pick in rounds 1, 2, and 3, but you BETTER hit home runs on each of those. And if there is an opportunity to trade down a bit and grab an additional pick in those rounds, I would seriously explore it.

Chandler Jones the new hot name.
I can't say I know much about the Syracuse kid but seems like a "helium" guy, who I'd normally be skeptical of but I subscribe to the Book of Mayock, and he LOVES Jones.

Rick Spielman essentially does the exact opposite of taking Christian Ponder 12th overall (I think that was the pick) by getting a 4th, 5th, 7th in exchange for moving down one spot and not affecting their draft board at all.
