Braylon back in the mix.

Would love to sign Collie with no expectations. Holmes, Braylon, Collie, Hill, Kerley and Winslow would be counting on a lot of 2010 stars, but could be a decent group (certainly better than the Holmes-Hill-Kerley-Gates-Cumberland group we were staring at until recently).

Cimini predicting locker room problems if the Jets struggle and includes Braylon as someone to watch. Funny thing is I saw Braylon interviewed yesterday and he comes across as a thoughtful guy.

I guess Braylon has a track record, but I thought it was an odd contrast

PRIOR to a Revis trade, mind you, ESPN's football staff put us 31/32 teams in their pre-draft power rankings.

And the media is all-knowing. Without Revis, we had the 8th ranked defense. Rex doesn't need the best personnel to make the defense a top defense.

Welp, post-Revis trade and draft, ESPN now officially plants us as 32/32.

The Jets won't be bad as Oakland, that team looks destined for a 3-win type of season (or worse), their roster is that pitiful. The Jets' offense is going to be brutal, but I think the defense keeps them in enough games to avoid a true disaster season. I say they go 5-11 or 6-10 with Rex getting canned somewhere along the way or after the season.

As for the rest of that list:

People who don't understand the luck-driven stuff in football are overrating the Colts and underrating the Lions.

The Falcons at #2: ahahaha. Almost certainly the most overrated team on this list.

I like the Bucs as a sleeper. Revis and Goldson were big additions to a secondary that needed big additions. It's going to be tough with the Saints and Falcons in the same division, but I think the Bucs have a legitimate shot at winning the NFC South if the good Josh Freeman shows up.

The teams recently ranked 32nd by ESPN...

2012: Colts - final record: 11-5*
2011: Bengals - final record: 9-7*
2010: Rams - final record: 7-9
2009: Lions - final record: 2-14
2008: Falcons - final record: 11-5*

A combined record of 40-40. That total is skewed by the Lions, who were the easy choice following an 0-16 season. Three of these teams made the playoffs, including the Falcons who won the NFC South. Just like the 2013 Jets, all five of these teams started a rookie QB.
