Agreed, Ivory is fun to watch. He was a good acquisition. I think that Goodson was a smart move in theory too (someone who is smaller/faster that Ivory and Powell and a threat to catch)... unfortunate that he couldn't put in much time.

Goodson was a good football move. Off the field was sketchy but I'm not his Dad and I'm not his judge so play ball. He would have added speed out of the backfield, which is lacking. He could have worked out nicely.

Jets are signing Ed Reed, per Mort.

I have no idea if he can still play, but like the Nnamdi talk on the previous page, in this secondary, I think its worth it to take a look at him on the practice field and see for yourself. The bar is low.

Also, love that this presumably signals Rex won out over Idzik, who the beat guys said appeared to not want Reed despite Rex wanting him.

Glad to see at least one of the former Shea Stadium occupants signing free agents. :)

I'm skeptical of the pickup...but if the cost is cutting Sapp...it's worth the gamble. I will trust Rex on a decision like this.

I think he can be a good #3 safety for us

My only concern is that Rex may stick with him even if he's not performing. He's done that in the past- keep playing guys that need to be replaced out of loyalty.

Otherwise I do like the signing.

Yeah, and if you're using the "He's 19" logic, then I guess the best report a scout could give us is:

"I have no idea. He's a teenager. He may go through 5 arm surgeries between now and his 30th birthday. He may add a pitch. He may lose a pitch. He may put on 30 lbs and add velocity. He may put on 50 lbs and eat his way out of the league. I literally have no idea what he is going to be."

But thats not what these guys are paid to do, nor what we are looking for them to do, right?

Ooof. 4th down offsides penalty makes the Jets come unglued. Game is almost out of reach

Rex says Geno will get his job back next week, as he should. The leash is getting shorter though. Rex didn't say that. I did. But I hope it's true. Sims has shown me things. Granted in a blowout and in preseason, but it's something.
